Basically they talked about Klosterman's article:
    - Simmons said the most surprising thing about the article/interview was that Royce only shoots/practices about once a week. Simmons thinks that shows a lack of love for the game. Klosterman said it might be laziness on Royce's part. They tried to step around it as gingerly as possible - but said Royce has different priorities (as we all know).
    - Klosterman said Royce seems like a brilliant 9th grader who just wrote a research paper on mental illness and read Marx.
    - They pointed out the inconsistencies in Royce's arguments.
    - Twitter is a really bad mode of communication for Royce.
    - Morey said 1/5 chance a player works that late in the draft. Simmons said in a top-heavy draft like 2012, it might be 1/8. Top 4-5 talent in Royce - had to go for it.
    - Said Royce's game is so unpolished. In college, Royce basically just relied on inherent skill/talent/size. Can't shoot, not great handle, etc.
    - Compares Royce to players in the past: Rodman, Arenas, etc.
    - Said maybe the spotlight and 30for30 short (exposure it brought) might not have done Royce any favors. Elevated platform changed Royce.
    - Speculated that maybe getting beat in practice everyday made Royce afraid of the competition. First time he was outclassed in his life in basketball. Instead of facing that fear, Royce retreated.

Nothing we haven't heard before from Simmons on Royce or Klosterman if you read the article.

Wrap some pseudo-intellectual language around what is essentially juvenille behavior, and people will call you "complex" and "thoughtful" and "interesting".

If White wants to extend his 15 minutes of fame a little longer, he should come out strongly in support of gay marriage. Regardless of how you feel about the issue, it's catnip to the media and considered the pinnacle of virtue.

Well. OK. Any faint hope I had for this guy making it as a pro just evaporated, along with any shred of sympathy for his situation. It looks like his primary problem is not mental illness.

Was that once a week only since he had been suspended? I remember reading that he had been working with Rockets trainers in early January before he got suspended. I imagine they worked on shooting, who knows though. A couple weeks with out shooting a lot is one thing, but months is a whole different situation.

Why Royce White Might be the Most Important Athlete Since Muhammad Ali, and Why Chuck Klosterman Doesn’t Get It

The #Revolution is STILL underway. (And NOT the revolutions on the Winnebago.) NONE us are seeing the FULL picture here through our CAPITALISTIC lense, we are getting it WRONG...

According to this blogger's perspective. Some pieces (posted February 11, 2013):
Have we and the league broadened past our short-sighted mindsets and learned to be more TRANSPARENT and less commodity focused so far? Is Royce's message getting across? To even himself?

Is 71 year old Muhammad Ali as close to playing in the league as Royce White?

I have anxiety issues myself that I deal with. It hit me all of a sudden as a senior in high school. Out of the blue.

But there is no excuse for not practicing more than once a week. I mean, what the hell? That really has nothing to do with anxiety issues.

The only reason why I can understand not practicing is if you had a panic attack before practice for some reason and you need to sit down and collect yourself. Even after it's over, you might not feel like practicing.

But really, I don't understand what the possible reason could be for not practicing.

And actually, exercise reduces anxiety a lot. Running around, lifting weights, playing basketball, etc. makes me feel really relaxed.

So I really don't understand why he doesn't practice.

Why do people keep saying he was a top 5 talent?? He was not!!!

There was not a single statistical catagory Royce was a top 10 in NCAA. Not a single one! The only catagory he was on top of the list...

    Turnovers/game!!

He had a rare skillset. He was a big man that could go up and down the court and pass very well. IMO, he's like twill except less of a highflyer (lolz) and even mroe sucky jumper but larger and stronger.

    LOL! So true.
Oh well, as Les said 6 months ago, you hate to lose a draft pick, but ...not much we can do.

How did Morey not find out about his lack of work ethic? No matter how talented you can't send a high pick on a lazy player

6'8" 21 year-olds who can go up and down the court are a dime a dozen. His passing skill is really overrated. A high risk passer who had a huge amount of TO's is not a positive skill in NBA.

The only skill he has is his court vision. Everything else is overrated.

I don't give a damn about Royce White any longer. I'd rather not hear anything about him again.
