I normally don't like to post stuff from the bleacher report but this article written by Joseph Edmondson caught my interest.

I guess AB being #4 on the point per 48 minutes list makes this somewhat Rockets relevant. In the end, the author of the article ranked AB and the 8th best PG.

Probably, but whatever. Isn't Monta Ellis a shooting guard? I thought curry played the point for GS.

    Its between D-will and Rondo

D-will cause he does everything all the other point guards can do but his big advantage is his size.

Rondo has the edge on nash, cp3, and the others because he rebounds like a dam center and his defense is also really good.

Steve Nash is the best imo. Anyone that can consistently carry that POS team to the Conference finals deserves a cookie... Get the guy some help...

Deron is like a bigger stronger Kyle Lowry with more skills.

    This.

You stole my thunder as I was going to post that, IMO, Rondo and Williams are the two best pgs in the league right now. Rondo is terrific. He has dominated in games played at the highest levels (finals). He can't shoot like Brooks, but he can score, and do all the little things that separates winners from losers.

Williams is in the same category.

If I was a gm, forget about Paul and all the rest, give me Rondo and Williams and we are talking about championship runs for years to come.

I've been impressed with Rondo in the playoffs but I can't give him the nod as the best PG because of his shot and FT %. Great PGs should do it all.

Rondo is great... but he's value is at a high because he's being watched by the national public and plays on a great team. His offensive shortcomings (although improving) are helped by his teammates, coaching (Thibodeau more than Rivers), and system. I still take Nash, Williams, CP3 (when healthy), and Derrick Rose over him.

And my gut tells me John Wall will be a better overall PG too.

Although CP3 doesn't have the rebounding ability, his D is definitely top notch with his stealing ability and man on man defense. I still have him as my top PG of the NBA, if he wasn't injured this past season there would be no question he is still #1.

One play. Paul is NOT a good defender.

Sure Paul gets steals, but his man to man D is lacking.

You have to consider Rondo for the best. At least top 3. He is the best player on a contender.

    Deron Williams gets my vote.

Although he does not shoot like Curry/Nash, does not rebound like Rondo, does not create like Chris Paul, is not as fast as Rose, but he has no shortcomings. Handles, court vision, size, shooting, athleticism, speed and also the intangibles - toughness and leadership.
