I was veryyy happy when we picked up Barry this offseason but man has he been off...

It seems like he turns the ball over a lot more than I expected and can't really take over pg duties when Rafer goes to the bench (thanks goodness for AB).

His shot has been off & it almost seems like he's hesitant to take the open jumper. I'm sure it has something to do w/ his injury but he was doing the same thing when the season started...

He's not the best defender and won't be a ball stopper.

So the point of this thread is why play him in the rotation? Being in Head and let him knock down the jumpers and play some better D than Barry has been. Maybe even just temporarily tell Barry gets his jumper back??

I don't know but I trust RA and believe he is the right coach for this team just giving me opinion is all.

a wrist injury can effect your shot and it was stated last night that he has a wrist injury so that just could be whats going on. For him being open 4 out of his 7 shots and him missing all thats not Barry like. Once he is healthy the shots will be falling

He has looked really really bad. Honestly I'd rather see Head in the game right now.

Players like B. Barry and R. Horry are veterans who cruises during the season and makes their presence felt during playoff time..

Morey has done a great job getting good starting players, but his complimentary attempts have been utter failures.

    Mike James
    Steve Francis
    Brent Barry
    Extending Luther Head

The wizard has lost a little luster.

Rather see Head!? He'll make you regret it within the first 24 seconds.

    Aaron Brooks
    Carl Landry
    Luis Scola

All agree with the statement above.

Hmmm...good point, but I was talking about non-starters acquired via trade....

Both AB and Landry were draft picks and Scola was a starter.

My point is that not all of his moves have worked, even the Artest move is still up in the air IMO.

To be fair, they were all cheap gambles w/ (at the time) high upside.

C'mon DD, don't play Monday Morning Quarterback on us here. All of those moves made sense at the time and the majority involved little-to-no risk.

It's not like we traded for Kenyon Martin on impulse here.

Last time I checked Head was a pretty darn good player when he gets playing time (unless its playoff time). I know he has some flaws but he's not going to be in here to be a super star. His job is to knock down the open jumper and play D.

I won't regret anything at all.

As a shooter you just don't turn it on come playoff time. If he continues playing like this the whole season he doesn't deserve to be in the rotation come playoff time.

Negrodamus told yall he was finished. He shouldve been a late season pick up at best. His market value was low and even if he only received lle, the rox couldve and shouldve signed elson or ratliff vs another guard . Negrodamus will go now. :D

He needs to get his wrist/hand healthy and then Addledman needs to let him shoot himself out of the slump.

Mike James- was a valuable piece in terms of landing us Ron Artest

Steve Francis- Jury is out but he will contribute one way or another whether it's his contract or play on the court.

Brent Barry- We're 12 games into the season. We brought him in for veteran leaderhip and playoff experience. He's provided one thus far and I have faith he will provide the latter when the time comes.

Luther Head- Case in point that not everyone is perfect including Morey. At the time Head was signed he was very deserving of the extension.

It's easy to be cynical when we're losing but think outside the box and look at the great acquisitions of Scola, Landry and Brooks like KDavis mentioned. We started slow last year. Really slow. We will turn it around.

I was at the game last night. Barry looked really, really off.

The crowd felt it too. He had that horrible turnover where he just dumped the ball off to the Mavericks right after passing half-court.

I *hope* it's just the thumb injury and a shooting slump.

I'm worried that it's more than that...I'm worried Brent has almost nothing left in the gas tank and there will be no improvement from here.

    To add on..

Mike James was acquired for freakin Juwan! (the 2nd time we got James, which was the Morey time you refer to) Was Juwan going to bring us anyone MORE productive than James? If nothing else, he would have also landed us Bobby J who landed us Artest. He gambled, but didn't lose anything for the gamble.

And Head...he was deserving of the extension. And I still think he'll contribute via his contract like he mentioned about Steve..
