I personally prefer utorrent as well, but to answer your question, there's probably an option to open up your files in a window before downloading. Just look through your preferences and see if there is something like that.

I used to use Utorrent but it got too buggy and my download speeds were too low. Then I switched to Azureus and it is great. I now get dl speeds around 700KB on even some of the public torrent sites. With Utorrent the same files were downloading at 50KB. I don't know exactly why its better, but it is.

I ran into the exact same problem the OP desribed. It happened when Azureus automatically upgraded.

    Basically to change, go to:

    -Tools
    -Options
    -Files

-Then under Files, uncheck the option for "Automatically download to default directory (No Prompt)"

Uncheck that box and it should give you the prompt and you will be able to select which files you want to download specifically.

I'm digging the Azureus Dashboard, Mature Content also. ;) I've never actually downloaded anything from the Dashboard preview, but it is sure fun to scroll through the list with the image preview.

What version were you using. When utorrent got sold off to Bit Torrent Inc, I tried out their new version (I think ver 1.7), but I didn't like it. I went back to ver 1.6.1 which was perfect for my needs just the way it was, and I've never looked back.

I thought older utorrents were banned by private trackers.

I'm not really sure, b/c I format my computers every 3 months and I don't save any of the old program files. But I remember I switched from Utorrent to Azureus about 6 months ago. So that might be a time frame into what version I was using at the time.
