We just got Rock Band 2 for the Xbox with mic, guitar, and drum kit for $79. I finally bit the bullet and got it for Christmas for the boys. It also has the AC/DC expansion pack... www.rockband99.com is the site. Great deal. DD
I love Rock band. Since I have zero abilities actually playing an instrument, it makes me feel like a Rock Star for about an hour. Its fun, and the kids should love it. 5 star purchase. The Beatles pack comes out in a month or so. The instruments you bought will be compatible with it too.

It looks like the guitar, microphone and drum kit are from the original Rock Band bundle and not the Rock Band 2 bundle. Can anyone confirm? I think they are selling this with the first generation instruments and packing the second Rock Band software and a AC/DC track list. If I'm not mistaken, Amazon.com was selling the Rock Band 2 bundle (Rock Band 2 instruments and software) for 99 a few weeks ago.
Good point -- the difference is RB2 instruments are wireless, right? Still a great deal, but something to consider.
Depends on the system I believe. Guitars and Drumkit for PS3 Rock Band are wireless no matter which bundle. The Mic I'm not sure about.
Yeah, Rock Band 2 (from all the reviews I've read) had wireless instruments and better instrument design in general. The drum kit was said to sound a lot softer/better than the first generation design. I've had a RB1 and a RB2 Drum Kit and I can say the only difference is that the pads are a little better at absorbing the constant beating, wireless is better though if you are contrasting. The GHWT Drum Kit was just bizarre, although I did like the "Create your own track" part.

If it says Rock Band 2 on the Box, you're getting the RB2 instruments with the bundle. I still use my RB1 Guitar, there isn't much of a difference IMO. They are both wireless.
