It is human nature the Rockets are going to be fighting now that the streak is over. The tendency to relax. Can this team come out and continue to give the energy and intensity needed to continue to win, with a shortened roster? These next 3 games are key to how the team will go, at New Orleans and at Golden State and Phoenix back to back.... I think the Rockets will respond, but realistically they will be favored to lose all 3 games. New Orleans is out for blood..... Golden State is not playing that well Phoenix is getting it together... How many games out of the next 3 do you guys think they will win? DD
I think the Rockets will go 2-1. They will beat N.O tonight and beat Golden State. Having back to back and running with G.S and Phoenix will result in a lose against Phoenix. 3-2 for the week is not bad at all!!
Yeah, 2-1 is my prediction also. Wins against NO and Golden State. This week will show what the rockets are really made of. It's one damned tough schedule, but to come out with 1 or 0 wins this week would be disgraceful at the very least. All it essentially means if we have a bad week is that we'll be out in the first round again. If we have a decent week, we might have a chance in round 1. At this point, we still have at least 8 games or so against scrub teams for the rest of the season, so it's not a matter of making the playoffs. We can easily do that. It's a matter of winning any games once we get there.
I guarantee a loss to Phoenix. You all will see how much of a post presence we really have... Shaq + Amare > Scola,Landry,Deke,Harris,+Whoever else. People were like that was such a horrible trade but people have to realize that team isn't built for the regular season but for the playoffs.. Playoffs = slow it down/half court style of basketball.
Fran Blinebury mentioned some disturbing history in his blog article. As great as the 70-71 Bucks and the 71-72 Lakers teams were, they lost quite a few games after their historical streaks ended before everything got back on track. http://blogs.chron.com/franblinebury/2008/03/the_dead_cat_bounce_celtics_94.html I am just hoping that history won't repeat itself, a 3 game losing streak can easily get us out of home court. We need to go for at least a 1-2.
I voted for 2 but it coulb be 3 or even 1. We can beat NO, Golden State but we may have some problems with Suns, especially with Shaq and Amare.
Tonights game at NO is as big a statement game as we've had the last 2 months. This streak was going to end at sometime and when it did this is where the national media and many on this board said that this team would begin to tank. The Rockets coming back with a good showing and a win tonight will surprise NBA "experts" almost as much as 22 straight.
Yes and they will surprise me too. Because watching last nights game and Sundays game made me feel Tmac needs a break. And 3 out of the last 4 Rafer has looked pathetic. Without Carl landry we don't have that explosive inside presence, Deke looks tired and the bench hasn't been dominating as before. So I would be very surprised if we win tonight and Saturday. I am hoping we can beat GS but that won't be easy either. I hope the Rockets prove me wrong but things don't look so good.
I'm very concerned about a hangover period. Phoenix is going to be a nightmare matchup for us and our smurf frontcourt. Evan
YEAH, 'cuz Steve Nash is SO BIG...! Who gives a **** if they have SHAQ and AMARE playing? PLAY TO WIN NO MATTER WHAT!!!!! I PREDICT THE ROCKETS WILL WIN ALL GAMES from now on. YES, I'm a homer... SO WHAT?
33-win Lakers and 20-win Bucks all sucked during their next few games, it's no coincident, aggression will only last a while, after that people will experience a burnout, it's gonna take a while for the Rockets to regroup, let alone that the following games are all tough ones. Considering mission welldown if they can get away with one win.
These are all winnable games, but I will not be too upset if they lose all three, it's a tough stretch.
