Just thought I'd pass this along to those who may not be aware: CBS Sportsline's fantasy football site has been a living nightmare this season and a lot of their users are revolting against it. They touted themselves as the best fantasy football site out there, and charged accordingly. However, they routinely go down an hour before games start on Sunday and many weeks don't come back up until an hour or two in to game play. If you play fantasy football, you know that is a killer since so many starters and injury updates are known just before games start. Sportsline has refused to refund their users, but have been bombed by complaints so badly that they had to set up a page with a long "mea culpa" and a new "Report Card" feature, where they grade their performance each week. It's been funny to watch them each week "grade themselves" .... "Well that was fun. Overall, D+. That's improvement. We'll try again next week". Since the problems repeated again today, I thought I'd pass this along to everyone considering the service.
NFL.com Fantasy is also pretty bad around game time. Site just goes down. Best and most reliable fantasy is still Yahoo Fantasy Football.
I've been with yahoo for 4 years -- never a single problem. I've used both the free and the pay service. I'd HIGHLY recommend it.
Yep - because NFL.com's fantasy football service is run by CBS Sportsline ... same service. We're going back to Yahoo! next year, without a doubt. I loved how Sportsline let you upload a custom team logo, but that feature isn't worth this traveshamockery.
Clutch, Glad to see others share my frustration. Our league has already met and voted that we will absolutely NOT be returing to CBS next year. We've had leagues with them for a few years, but this has been so bad, we're going somewhere else. The decision was based on CBS's constant slowness and downtimes. They also refused to make it right by refunding us for what they were constantly unable to deliver this year. Buyer beware if going with Sportsline.
Our Cbs sportsline server was down prior to kickoff today and it really pissed me off. We've used them for about 5 years now and this has by far been the worst year. I must say it does work well most of the time, but when I need to make a pre game adjustment and can't get into the site it is maddening.
Been using Yahoo for all 3 fantasy sports for years now. This is the first time I've used Stattracker. It makes Sundays a lot of fun. No more waiting until Monday morning to find out if you're ahead or not.
I don't want to bad mouth CBS sportsline too much because generally the service has been very good. They also have noted on our home page an alert (wasn't up today though) that acknowledges the problems they are having and what they are doing to correct the issues. There is another fantasy site that everyone raves about but for the life of me I can't remember the name. Maybe "my fantasy league [dot] com" ..?
I think this is it : myfantasyleague You can run a free demo season. Anyone have any experience with these guys?
we had sportsline for 3 or 4 years in a row and never had problems. I guess got lucky that we switched over to foxsports.com this year. I've actually been really pleased with it.. pretty much all the features of sportsline without the price. I have a number of leagues on Yahoo of course...which is fine. I like having everything in 1 location if nothing else. Not as customizable as foxsports. And I have 1 league on ESPN.. and I think their setup and interface blows.
That's the site I use in my dynasty fantasy leagues. It is awesome imo. Very customizable(ran normal, auction, drafts with multiple same players, etc), run across very few problems over the last 3 or so years, and when there has been problems they've been fixed very quickly by the tech guys.
No site i've ever used has come close to Yahoo. Been playing fantasysports there for 7 years and I will continue to do so.
Ironically, if more people leave CBS sportsline, it likely ends up running a lot faster without all the bogged down bandwith. When its running, its a better service... but I agree that the fact that its down before gametime is a HUGE problem.
I thought about the same thing when I was saying how great foxsports was...wondering if next year, if many people hear about it, if it'll go through the same issues
