Are the Rockets still interested in Avery Johnson being the Assistant coach for the guards? Would you like him here? He could really teach francis a thing or two along with Mobley if hes still a rocket next year. And can the rockets use Hakeem on the bench, being an assistant coach to help bring along Yao Ming, and the new addition of Badine. Who else could the rockets use as an assistant coach? Could Dominque Wilkens being a good coach for the Forwards? Just wondering Coach : JVG A. Coach Avery Johnson A. Coach Hakeem O. A. Coach Wilkens Kinda looks like a tough system. What ya think?
Hakeem has allready stated that he doesnt see coaching in his future at least not at this time and a guy like Wilkins is not needed at all. I would consider hiring Avery because he's shown so much interest in becoming a coach but I don't know about hiring ex-players just because they're ex-players.
Can any of these four guys coach? Seriously, Dream and Johnson are under contract as players so we couldn't hire them as coaches anyway. Keep in mind, just because someone was a great player doesn't mean they can coach. For every Larry Bird, there's a Magic Johnson (or something like that). j
In a perfect world that would happen. I think we need experience coaches that are X & O's and defensive minded.
Avery can coach. He ran practice for the Mavs for most of the season. He acted as an assistant coach during the end of the season and playoffs. He is going to get quite a few job offers and is going to be a good head coach one day. There are rumors in Dallas that he is being groomed to take over from Nellie in a couple of years. He would be a great assistant in Houston, but he is going to be difficult to get. Hakeem is not a coach. Not his personality.
JVG will bring 3 coaches he feels comfortable with to coach his game. That leaves a 4th spot he needs to fill. Mario Ellie has expressed an interest to JVG about a coaching position. I would like to see Mario on the Rockets bench.
Hakeem needs time to FOCKASS on his personal businesses. Thank you Hakeem, but no thank you coaching wise.....
Uh...nice spelling there. Try FOCUS Anyway, Hakeem is in the process of moving his family. He has no interest in coaching, nor do I think he would be a good one. He wasn't much of a locker room leader. He lead by example on the floor. Avery would be great, but probably not available. Van Gumby will get a staff that he can work with and not one that the fans want for star power. No one buys tickets to see assistant coaches.
Actually you have missed a lot if you can't see that he did not misspell a word. As mentioned above it is a reference to Dream. Do you really not understand that? Besides, I did not know that we had grammar and spelling police here.
Yeah we wouldnt want Hakeem coaching the centers or Yao Ming, he is only the top 5 Centers of all time we all need to fockass, on McNuggets , because they are unbeatable
