The best extended warranty to get is from the dealer/manufacturer themselves. Too many people have been burned by 3rd party warranty companys when they went out of business. I like saving money, but there's no way I buy an extended warranty from a 3rd party.

I'd say that's not absolute. If Samar has some mechanics where he usually goes to fix his cars, he can ask them around, for instance, by showing them several 3rd party providers of extended warranty. The mechanics are pretty honest in situation like this - they'll have nothing to hide from you.

Extended warranty, unless it covers bumper to bumper, can be very tricky. More often than not, you end up wasting your money. I have had the experiences twice, and I don't think I'll take a 3rd one.

Yeah I am going to get the bumper to bumper plan. I was just wondering if there are any loopholes that I should be worried about.

Check out the deductible. The extended warranties I have purchased have had a deductible associated with them (generally $50.00). The deductibles I have had covered ALL warranty work on any particular trip. Make sure that is the case. For instance, if you have warranty work done on the radiator and while doing the work they discovered another problem covered by the warranty, the total deductible should be $50.00 not $100.00.

Heads are a big one.. ex. warranties normally don’t cover head leaks unless coolant is leaking along with oil (I.E. not most cases) then even with the warranty you will still be out $1500.00... Also make sure the cover every part of the A/C system.. Compressor, Condenser, Accumulator.. ex..
