So who would buy this? Rich redneck oil tycoon or James Harden? Is this beginning of the luxury truck line, and are we going to be seeing BMW or Porsche making trucks now? I know Lincoln had their Mark LT trucks, and that turned to be a big flop. But all that was just a F-150 with bells and whistles. The Escalade truck was nothing more than a whack Chevy Avalanche. I own a truck (Toyota Tacoma) and in the market for a new one (probably another Tacoma or Chevy Colorado). This will be way out of my price range.
I like how you mentioned James Harden haha, I could see him doing it. We've had a bad experience with Mercedes, something always goes wrong. Im sure people want a reliable truck..
not sure how i feel bout this. i've always had problems with mercedes, mainly them being above my budget. waiting for mini cooper monster trucks.
Harden would turn the truck bed it into a Jacuzzi, and add a stripper poll. The pool water would splash on his face while the booty bounces. Rockets championship guaranteed
I want to like it, but I don't. Not a fan of the exterior at all. The interior looks amazing though. Maybe it'll grow on me once I see a few on the road.
Lol just no. I don't see the market for this. It will get laughed at. And I drove a mercedes SUV for years and loved it.
I could imagine some people at my work going for something like this. In a span of 2 months, three of my coworkers have been one upping each other by getting various Shelby F-150's. The most recent guy who got one, jacked it up so high you would need a ladder to get into it. Ridiculous, but these folks have at least 6-7 other vehicles.
No doubt targeting newly-arrived Indian immigrants who also want to try their hand at ranching and farming. Bravo. (Seriously, a Mercedes pickup is a wtf moment -- pickup trucks and luxury? Get outta here...)
It's a mid-size with a V6. It's not being sold in the US mainly because it's manufactured in countries that fall under the "chicken tax". You'd be surprised at how many King Ranch and other, aftermarket, fancified pickups there are around. A couple I've seen rival any Lexus-type interior. I've got a gearhead cousin who'd be all over this, he could park it next to his G-wagon and F-650.
It will not sell unless it can tow a lot more than than an American truck. The type that buy expensive pickup trucks are pretentious in different ways than the people who buy Mercedes.
Maybe. There is a large contingent of ethnic folks that enjoy driving trucks but don't want something American (they drive Tundras). I drive a Sierra Denali and have three friends with Platinum F-150s along with various family members with trucks north of 50k (some over 70k). For those in construction it's easier and more palatable for folks to see you pull up in a loaded truck than say, a Range Rover or Mercedes SUV. Again though....full size. I don't know who would want a mid size luxury truck.
