I saw this ad when i was in Sydney last weekend. I doubt it was done intentionally. I don't even remember the Bryant Matthews saga. More importantly, what lead you to the herald sun website?
To be honest....i don't think it was done intentionally. but personally i have been to aus numerous times and i have found that overall the people there are damn racist.
Typical Kiwi reply. I live in New Zealand and it's not unusual for a Kiwi to take a stab at an Australian.
wtf how was that racist!? I'm soooo tired of people crying "racism"! It takes away from when real racism happens!
lol...first of all...i am not kiwi. especially in the early 90s when i went to aus...its was really racist against asians. kiwis are pretty bad as well.
seriously someone explain to me how thats racist? i see the AD all the time i think its natural for a brother to come over to AUS and get all the woman, just as if an attractive Aussie like myself was to go to america with my accent girl would go crazy, i think the AD is very suitable... I was kidding about me being attractive Fozzey
Here here. We should just all be happy in Aus that the Basketball is back on free to air television. Just a stupid media build up over nothing.
Gotta love the race card. It's funny, because it's actually a white family's house that is being invaded by a bunch of white dudes and a token black guy. And while everyone was destroying property and *****ing up the birthday cake, he jumps into bed with the couple, and finds out that the wife prefers chocolate over vanilla. Spike Lee actually made a movie about that. It's racism when there is nothing else to call it.

This was actually apart of a series of ads, where the offered KFC products to appease annoying people around him. At the time of that particular Ad, the cricket world cup was being held in the West Indies. I'm sure it wasn't meant to come across as racist, but rather to provide advertising relevant the theme of the cricket world cup.
There was nothing in the NBL ad. Just over sensitive idiots. As for the KFC advert, a very small group of hyper sensitive idiots in the U.S. went crazy over that, not realizing the close relationship Australia and the West Indies have through Cricket.
