The Australian Kangaroo's Rugby League team will play their first ever Test match against the USA at Franklin Field in Philly on the 30th.

The Australian Rugby League team is arguably the most successfull international sporting team in the world having not lost a series of any kind for nearly a quater of a century. Imagine the Dream Team at their peak....for over 25 years....that how good this team is.

They recently beat the second best nation by a scorline of 44-4 in the recently play Tri Series final!

If you live in the area and you want a bit of a different sporting fix, go out and check out the game I follow. :)

The gates open November 30 at 4:00 p.m. and will feature three different events.

4:00: Youth ‘Flag’ Exhibition Rugby League

6:00: “Remembrance Cup” with the US Rugby League 2004 champion Glen Mills Bulls vs the 2004 South Sydney League champion Coogee Dolphins

7:30: “Liberty Bell Cup” featuring the world’s 1st ranked Australian Kangaroos vs the 18th ranked USA Tomahawks

I'll be watching the game on Fox Sports Australia. They are expecting about 10,000 people to show up which is great for the first Australia vs USA Test match.

It would be great if these games could be played at a regular basis.

If you find yourself there...watch out for the Australian number 6, Darren Lockyer, who is the best player in the world at the moment.

If you cant get there I believe the game is being shown of Foxsports World in the U.S.

There is a heap of info on the AMNRL web site at AMNRL.com.

Lets hope for a good game....I'll post some details of the game after its been played in this thread as well. :)

I have a question while there's an Aussie in the room. My friend and I have been wondering why the Olympic team colors are green and yellow. I guess those colors are used for other national teams as well.

I was in Philly two weekends ago, and Lincoln Financial Field (from the outside) looks like one helluva place to watch a sporting event. Ditto for the Phillies' new baseball stadium. Those two and Wachovia Stadium (where the 76ers play) are all located together right on the river.

Green and gold represents the URL=http://www.ruthshaven.com/australia/images/goldenwattle.jpg]Golden Wattle[/URL] , a native Australian tree. Green leaves, gold (yellow) flowers. It's our national floral emblem. [

Smeg....who wants to watch League rejects....or an AFL team play some Irish blokes on a game that doesnt even exist? :D

Its hard to make a prediction on this game. If Australia play like that did last week the scoreboard will catch fire. Having said that, I think the US will give a good account of themselves.

What ever the case it should be a very interesting match to watch. Besides, if you like seeing the best of the best in international sport, you have to see this Australian side play.

    We're that damn good. :D

The Aussies are probably the best sporting nation per capita in the world, to my kiwi wife's chagrin. I think they are probably better in cricket than anything else. At least New Zealand can give them a run in rugby.

I'd like to do RUGBY. She was too young in high school, but I think she is game now and available... I think there is a TeLeNoVeLa on UNIVISION about her now...

What about ITALY? Those suckers use BLUE and WHITE, when their flag doesn't even have the colors...

Is Lincoln Financial as nice on the inside as it is on the outside? How are the sightlines and concessions?

In Circket we are smashing everything right now.

But the Australian League team is definantly the best side we have.

Put it this way, Ive never in my lifetime seen the Australian Rugby League team lose a series of any kind.....and Im 24!

Anyway this game starts in a few hours and its worth checking out if you looking for something a bit different.

Never thought of that, I wonder what the blue and white represents. Also, England uses Red and White. I remember in soccer video games, the flag for England was a white one with a red cross.

Anyways, I wish I could check out today's game, but I only have basic cable.

Ok...its a we4ek later but I might as well updat this considering it was my last footy game of the season.

Australia came out expecting an easy go of it and the Americans gave it to them.

The U.S. scored the first try playing simple football....but the Aussie didnt get all that concerned.

A few more U.S. trys and a 24-6 sclines in the Americans favour at halftime had the Australians having a rethink about the way they approched the game.

This could have been one of the biggest upsets in International sport. It was VERY close to hapopening....but the bounce of the ball and the fitness of the professional Australian outfit told in the end as Ausyralia got a narrow 36-24 win.

The U.S. team played VERY well. Many were predicting they would get beaten by over 100 points....buy they came out and played some very good football.

With the right coaching and better training, the U.S. team will continue to improve. Infact I think if the right athlete was found, we could see an American player playing in the Australain club competition sooner of later.

Anyway if you liked what you see and you want more infomation on watching of playing the game in the U.S.A. then go to the AMNRL web site.

And Remember...itsRugby League....not just rugby or rugby union. ;)
