I know this might be a thread more in-tune with the GARM, but I won't be able to check and bump it within the next thirty minutes to prevent it from being buried by threads regarding feeding the Yao.

I need to watch game 5 tomorrow night, which I'm sure the rest of you do, too. I also lack NBA TV, which I assume is another similarity. In this situation, I usually go to Third Base, gorge myself with queso, and cheer madly. Why, you may ask, do I not want to do this usual ritual?

The answer is simple: the Spurs-Mavericks game is on at nearly the same time and going to Third Base last year during the playoffs, at the same time as the Spurs-Suns game, was a horrible choice. There were so many of them. I showered twice to get their essence off of me. I can't imagine what the environment will be like with Mavericks folks thrown in.

So my question to you is: where can I go to watch this game and be in relative peace despite the other game going on?

Call the Tavern. They usually have Rockets games. It's pretty much a Rockets bar.

The man speaks the truth. I'd go to the Tavern if I was in Austin.

The Tavern (Air Conditioned) is definitely a "Rockets bar" in the middle of Spurs country. Also, years ago we used to go to this place called Legends Sports Bar near the intersection of 183 and Mopac. It was always loaded with Rockets fans.
There's a new place on Anderson Ln. (just west of Burnet Rd. near the Alamo Draughthouse) called Cover 3. They have tons of LCDs/plasmas in various little enclaves throughout the bar. Nice place.

    Good luck.
