Texas Health and Human Services Commission needs volunteers at Braker and Metric... HHSC is looking for volunteers in the Austin area to help answer 2-1-1 calls for hurricane assistance over the holiday weekend. Volunteers will be provided with scripts and lists of resources where people can find the assistance they need. The volunteers will work 8-hour shifts (8 a.m.-5 p.m. and 4 p.m.-midnight) at the Braker Center. If you are interested in helping with this effort, please e-mail volunteer211@hhsc.state.tx.us. Be sure to include both a work and after-hours number where you can be reached and list the days and shifts you would like to volunteer for. You will be contacted with the additional information on where to report.
