Why does Austin televise the Spurs game instead of the rockets? shouldnt there be a channel for each team? I know SAn Antonio is closer but im pretty sure some people in austin would like to watch the rockets instead of the sbores. ------------------
I always assumed it was because the TV station in Austin knows a good team when it sees it. Truthfully, though, I think there are NBA rules that prevent teams from making broadcast contracts outside a certain distance from the home city. The weird thing is that Fox Sports SW in Austin broadcast the Celtics vs. Mavs game on Thursday night and the Celtics vs. Spurs game last night. Of course, the Celtics vs. Rockets game was not televised. I've tried to watch/keep up with the Spurs as close as I do with the Rockets, but I just can't do it. Whenever I see David Robinson, Sean Elliott, or Avery Johnson...it reminds me of just how much I hate the Spurs [This message has been edited by Smokey (edited February 24, 2001).]
