League pass gets you all the games.

They are telling you that the Rockets vs Spurs games are blacked out, unless they are on national TV.

So you get at least 78 of the Rockets games with League pass, also make sure you get the sports package that has NBA TV as well, it is like $2 extra a month, and about 5 Rockets games are on there too, so if you don't order that sports package you might miss em.

    Good luck,

    DD

The Spurs/Rockets games are blacked out because they will be shown in Austin anyways, probably on FSSW.

Other than that, League Pass will show most of the games, but you will need NBATV like DD said, to see ALL of them. I believe they will play 6 games on NBATV this season.

Actually, I believe that all Spurs/Rockets games this season are either on national tv or NBAtv. I have had league pass in 2001 and 2002 and got all the Rockets games that weren't on national tv.

I was going to get league pass until they released the schedule with 32 games being on nationaly tv this year (including NBAtv). That is probably all the games I have time to watch anyway.

Wow, jerinrulz. That's weird Directv would tell you that. I'm in Dallas and I have the League Pass. I can see all the Texas teams play w/ no problems. They will tell me the Mavs might be blacked out at times, but I think they would show them on local TV or Fox Sports (which I don't care anyways).

I'm an out-towner, so I have no opinion on the quality of the Houston local channels. But NBA TV really sucks, it had horrible video quality, like a local high school game feed.

    Jerinrulz-

    1. You won't get Spurs/Rockets games on LP because they will be shown on FSSW, therefore it will be blacked out on LP.

    2. I believe all 4 games vs. the Mavs are Nationally televised anyways, so you wouldn't need LP for them. I don't know why they told you different, but I got all the Mavs games last season (not that I watched them).

    3. ALL Nationally televised games are blacked out on LP. ABC/TNT/ESPN have the rights to those games, so LP cannot show it.

I had LP and NBATV last year, I got all the Rockets games that weren't nationally televised. If you do the same, you will have no problem.

For #1, usually if the Rockets are playing on LP for me, they would show the opponent's broadcasting. Even if it is on FSSW, they will show it in Dallas....not sure about Austin. You're right about #3.

Ya, I usually get the other team's broadcasters, but that might change now that the Rockets signed with FSN. I know for sure that Rockets/Spurs games are blacked out on LP.

I called to order LP last week and Time Warner (austin) told me I cannot see ANY Rockets games this year. I asked why and she told me they wnt to encourage fans in the areas of NBA teams to go to games instead of watching them on TV. If anyone in austin has LP and they do receive Rockets games please post and let me know what to do. Otherwise I guess i'll be at Aussies alot.

I recently conatcted TWC in Austin, and the lady told me that I should get all the Rockets games that are not nationally televised. Thats weird that they would tell us different things. I was also quoted two different prices. Either $169 for the earlybird, and another person told me that the earlybird expired and I would have to pay $189. If anyone has more info on this please let me know.

The prices are right, but the "early bird" should run through the first week of the season. Usually, the first 7 days of the season are free.

Cannot speak to this year's League Pass restrictions, but for the last couple of years the Spurs games are the only ones to be blacked out on TWC. Keep in mind that when it comes to sports packages, Time Warner is laughably ignorant, so I wouldn't trust any of the phone reps.

Usually, they give you a free preview at the beginning and middle of the season (for a lesser fee). If the Rockets are scheduled to come on a League Pass channel during those previews, and no blackout occurs on those games, then you should have no worries. Trouble is, the Rockets may be on National TV so much that this might not be possible.

If you want all the games, you will indeed want to make sure you have NBA-TV if you don't already. It is not part of League Pass.

I had League Pass in Austin through DirecTV for the last 3 years and League Pass shows every Rocket game (as well as any other team) as long as they are not nationally televised. Then you watch them on the national broadcast. Never missed one game.

 Someone needs to report this lady if she said this. From what I know, and experienced:

We should get all the Rockets games that aren't nationally televised and are on NBATV. I have had LP for 2 years in a row and this has been the case.

Peepz- the early bird price is $169, I'm not sure exactly when it ends, but the price does go up to $189 after.

Also, LP is giving a free preview for the 1st week, so you can alteast watch a couple games for free.
