'Austin Powers 3' To Commence Filming

Posted August 31, 2001 at 12:15 PM ET

    By John Couture

The third installment of New Line's highly successful franchise is rapidly preparing for its shooting schedule. Austin Powers 3 is set to enter pre-production in the next few weeks with shooting set for later this year.

Mike Myers has finished the script and it's been learned that the whole cast will return and that Mike will portray at least one new villain.

    At last! An origional script!

Just in time! I was getting so tired of all the repeats and knock-offs this summer. Now I get to look forward to more next summer. Austin Powers III, MIB II, Star Wars 5. Toss in a few Shakespeare re-makes and the summer lineup will be complete!

i thought The Spy Who Shagged Me was a pretty dumb sequel. It had a few funny moments but Heather Graham is a pretty lousy actress. I much prefered the first one.

Strange, I really didn't see what people liked about the first one so much. I actually enjoyed the second one more.

Here's a news snippit from the BEST site to news and rumours for movies Dark Horizons

Austin Powers: Goldmember: That's the title for the third AP comedy which begins shooting in November according to Variety. Things are moving very fast on the production after Myers and co-writer Michael McCullers turned in a very well received draft at New Line and Director Jay Roach jumped onboard. For a $25 million against 21% of the gross paycheck, Myers will play Powers, Dr. Evil, Fat b*stard and the unusual villain Goldmember about which Roach says "It's the most interesting, exotic villain people have seen in a long time, and every time Mike lapsed into the character in readings, we would literally lose it and take time to regain our composure". Heather Graham and the rest of the AP cast are expected to cameo though the Tom Cruise rumour has been denied. As a result of the project, MGM's "The Birth of the Pink Panther" and Universal's "Meet the Fockers" will now be delayed indefinitely. A very tentative release date of July 26th 2002 has been mentioned for 'Goldmember'.

    Cant wait for next summer!
