    The TSTV show I work on "Video Game Hour Live" is setting up shop in West Mall this wednesday from 11-2pm on the UT campus. We are going to have 3 43" plasma TVs with a Wii, 360 and PS3 all set up. We'll have Wii Sports, God of War, Lost Planet, Virtual Fighter 5, MotorStorm and more.

    You guys should come out and play or just shoot the breeze. Come talk about video games or whatever else. If you want to do some hardcore fanboy trash talk we might tape you and use it in a package for next weeks show


    Look for a big Time Warner canopy in West Mall. I'll be wearing a VGHL shirt and have on my Rockets Cap.

    Cool. I was wondering who it was that joined recently and started getting a bunch of WUs done.

    You'll probably pass me up in no time, at least when it comes to score. I'm 1 WU behind oomp (and about to be tied), but he's ahead of me by almost 1500pts. I get a little less than 200pts per WU for what it's worth (seems like PS3 WUs get close to 300pts per WU). You and oomp will probably battle it out for the #1 spot, unless some of the other guys start folding like crazy with their PS3s.

    Why do PS3s get more points per WU?

    The WUs they complete are bigger. The biggest WU I usually get is 5000 frames IIRC. If I'm not mistaken, PS3 WUs range around 200,000-500,000 frames. Considerably more than what I'm going through, so it makes sense that they get more points since they're getting more work done.

    Given the difference, I would think PS3s should get even more points. I think PCs can process any type of WU (or any type of protein basically), while PS3s are somewhat limited in the sort of protein folds they can process (as are the ATI GPUs, which are also incredibly fast). Perhaps that explains why the gap isn't that big given the difference in WUs.
