I live in Sydney hence I just finished watching Haas vs Gonzalas

Gonzalas dominated from start to finish

    6-1,6-3,6-1

with 42 winners, 3 unforced errors and 9 aces

that is just as impressive as Federer's win

right now both players are playing flawless tennis

I hope someone can finally beat Federer so I will be going for Gonzo

what yall thoughts? who do you think will win?

Gonzo is playing high quality tennis at the moment. Best I've ever seen him play. I'm just afraid he's gonna freeze up against Federer or his quality of play will drop because damn not many people can play at that level for so long. Federer of course is the exception.

I just pray for a competitive final because these men's marquee matchups have been less than stellar so far. Most of them have been so lopsided minus the nadal-murray match.

Federer in straight sets. Gonzales is playing great tennis. However he will be beaten by Federer.

R-Fed is one of the greatest ever - he'll win in straight sets.

Gonzalez is playing lights out tennis right now...HOwever, Federer is Federer...

    6-2, 6-3, 6-3

The women's final should be great too...I'm pulling for Venus, but Maria should win...

Federer doesn't really have any weaknesses. I will be pulling for the upset, though.

I hope it will be a competitive match.

if federer is locked in, and that's what 99% of his matches, then he's probably going to put a whooping on him.

That match against Roddick was the best i've ever seen him play, even better than the whooping he gave him at Wimbledon.

I can't believe how many jaw dropping shots Gonzalez hit against both Nadal and Haas, just a booming forehand he's got there, not as much variety as Federer but definately more power.

I think the Artful one will take it in 4 sets, i say this out of respect to Gonzo's quality of play lately.

Gonzo has had a great tail end of the tournament. Beating Hewitt on his home turf and then dismantling Blake, Nadal, and Haas all in straight sets.

All that said how could anyone realistically pick against Federer?

Federer can't hit impossible winners out of nothing like Gonzo does. Whenever Federer tries to assert himself like that his game faulters.

If Gonzo gets an early lead and Federer tries to match his shot making things could get interesting.

oficially it is not over. But after gonzalas didn't win the first set when he had 2 set points on his own service it was practically over.
    Federer is just to good.

great win for roger! he's just tooooo good for anyone! considering gonzo has beaten top seeded players in dominante fashion, and got beaten in straight sets by roger shows how much roger is better than rest of the players.

another impressive fact they mentioned is that roger wins it all without lossing a set in this aus open. last time it happened here was in 1972, and in all grand slam was in 1980. and he wasn't even born yet!

For those of you who didn't stay up all night (well, half the night) watching the final or don't have time to watch the entire match which is being aired right now on ESPN2, here is the highlights on YouTube:
