There are more songs out there than "Wipe Me Down" or "Party Like a Rockstar." signed, surrender (Feel free to rant about other overplayed songs here)
see also that ridiculous tatoo song Isnt there a law against radio stations getting paid by record companies to play a certain song? It seems pretty obvious thats whats going on here, or do people really call up and request party like a rockstar every 15 minutes?
the last time I listen to the radio for music was 94.5 about a year or 2 ago, they kept playing "Photograph" over and over so I threw my clock against the wall and never listen to that garbage ever again
thumbs down for radio... the other day i was in the car with my girl and just joking around I said.. lets see what kinda garbage the 3 sorriest radio stations are playing right now. I kid you not.. 97.9 had Part Like a Rockstar.. 104.9 had some HORRRRRRRIBLE song playing called "Ay BayBay" or something along those r****ded lines. And of course 104.1 KRBE didn't fall too far behind with "Glamourous" by Fergie. I honestly felt nauseous.. and I am not kidding, i really did.
Attn: SwoLy-D There aren't any other stations that I know of that play GOOD rap. I'm tired of all this new ****, rapping about your ho's, cars, clothes, money, how big your dick is etc. I miss Tupac. They need an old school station.

Like regular TV, cable and in some ways internet news sites, radio stations are owned mostly by the same major companies. So its the same format spread around to the same type stations all across the country. Then there's the listening audience. Typical rap fans generally aren't going to be the cerebral types and appreciate a song for its intricacies, lets be honest... They just want something to either enhance their "street" cred, or make them move their bodies. And thats how hip hop sells - gotta sell it to females, young people, and latino/white people. Pure or "Real" hip hop might as well be "male-only" hip hop...sure the Immortal Techniques and Big L's and GZA from Wu-Tang all the actual skilled MCs are better than whats out there on radio. But they don't sell good in ringtones Might need to check out some satellite radio, or put on an internet radio station while you're at home (which theyre trying to put the squeeze on internet radio stations too, making them pay more royalties )
College radio stations play some decent stuff, I've heard. I haven't turned a radio on myself in a few years, but they have better taste from the playlists I've seen on their websites. KTRU sponsors a bunch of shows I've been to like Ratatat and Voxtrot more recently..
