Me and a buddy are planning on starting a weekly podcast called "state of confusion" and it's going to be the two of us sounding off on current events, soap box rants, and music news/reviews/rants Besides mics, webhost, what else do I need to start this thing up? software? interfaces? any help would be much appreciated. thanks!

Whatever audio software you decide to use, if you are going to use mp3s as your medium, make sure the bitrate is low so downloads can be quick. Podcasting should be aimed for convenience not the quality of the recording. At 48kbps a 44 minute long file will only be 15 meg. Also make sure whatever host you use can handle the bandwidth of your files being shared. I don't know much about streaming so I can't help you there. When you get it going, post a link here - I'd love to give it a listen, I'm sure others here would too.
i found some software called Propaganda...looks like it's a go! first episode, "music today - a sad state of affairs" i'll post a link as soon as i get it running..it'll have it's own homepage in addition to the all important myspace page
