OK I've been to one game (six years ago) in my life and have a chance to go to the game next month when the Rockets come to town to play the Warriors ...

Not sure where I'll be sitting, but can someone tell me what lenses they've been allowed to take into the arena and what hasn't worked? I'm using Canon DSLR gear, some of the lenses are large and white

Also, I'm not quite sure about distances, so can someone give me a range of what focal length is good if I get seats in the lower level and what works if I'm in the upper level?

Thanks alot, maybe a change of pace question but still all about watching the Rockets :)

here's the general policy for Toyota Center, not specific to the Rockets:

I've heard that a 80-200 zoom is all you'll need. The Upper Deck is pretty far away, btw, much further than the Summit. To put it into perspective, the 1st row of seats in the 1st level of luxury boxes at Toyota is slightly further away than the 1st row of the Summit's upper deck.

I've also heard that if one gate denies you access based on your lens, try other gates before you give up. Since events can impose their own policy, some of the security might be mistakenly applying a more restrictive policy (from some concert, for instance) than the Rockets do. I'd just call that phone number and ask.
