Police caught the naked man as he tried to escape on a single roller skate, the newspaper Moss Avis reports. "It was a little scary. It's not exactly normal to run into such people," said newspaper carrier Eva Grading. Grading has delivered newspapers in Moss for years, getting up at 2am to hand out the local news. "I walked up to one of the apartment blocks on my route. I saw a man standing on the stairs near the door but didn't give it a thought. It is quite common for people to forget their keys and wait from someone to open the door," Grading said. Grading made her deliveries to the apartments in the entryway when she suddenly heard a man running up the stairs, the daily VG reports. Grading said the man covered her mouth before knocking her to the ground and hitting her repeatedly in the head. Her screams attracted the attention of neighbors, which frightened Grading's assailant off. She then called her husband by mobile phone and he warned police. The law arrived quickly and ran down their quarry as he tried to make his getaway on one roller skate. Police believe the attack was a protest against advertising material included in the newspaper delivery. "The man had contacted Moss Dagblad a few days before and complained about all the advertising which that newspaper occasionally distributes," said Moss deputy police chief Rolf L. Nissen. The offender was delivered to psychiatric services after the attack but was released shortly afterwards. The Moss Avis reported that the man would be remanded in custody for two weeks as he was considered a likely repeat offender. Police said that the man did not accept remand though he did admit that Grading could have considered the incident unpleasant. "He can't understand that he has done anything wrong," said Nissen.
