to me the draft is quite disappointing

the guys we drafted do not show superior atheleticm at all, they are merely above average atheletes - which will make thier tranisition into the NBA oh so much harder

I fail to see the difference between JL3 and Brooks (someone show me the light)

and Landry's atheleticm is probably as good as Juwan Howards when he was young

essentially, we have failed to come up with any atheleticm in the draft...something that we really needed

    what do you guys think?

If you were looking for super athletic freaks then you weren't going to find it with the picks we had.

As morey was saying, they are drafting for potentials rather than for plug and play players. Or mayble this is just a stepping stone in order for us to get other players?

Drafted the 5th and 14th best athlete at the combine (I think). I guess you wanted Greg Oden?

You can't even compare JL3 and Brooks, thats an insult to Brooks. If you haven't seen Brooks play go get some of his game tapes. Get the game out he played this past season on the road at Georgetown. He pretty much dominated that game.

He's a superior shooter to JL3, much better handles and just a much better player period. Zero comparison in my mind.

They could have had Strawberry at #54. hes a good athlete. Splitter is an athlete/banger, they couldda had him at #26.

I forgot to add. They have had the first pick of the 2nd round for 2 years now and have nothing to show for it.

    Are you serious?

Lucas only provides quickness. I guess since that's the only thing he brought on such an old team he looked like a Zeus of Quickness out there. But don't be fooled.

Our style of basketball in the last 4 years have been very cementing on the foot. If you want to compare Lucas to Brooks, add a much better defensive game(at least much more aggressive), and a much deadlier offensive game. Lucas doens't need to be guarded. Brooks is, I think Brooks' finishing ability will be overrated in his early career as he's going to find it harder to score on these NBA defenses inside and his outside shot will be very efficient. Overtime he'll develop a better finishing game but he's superquick, yes that portion of the game is similar to John Lucas III, but he's also got a skill level and talent level.

Really good is a stretch. Howard was an average athlete at best in his prime.

Alston James Brooks Spanoulis Lucas Sura
    McGrady Bonzi Head
    Battier Snyder Reed
    (Hayes) Landry Novak
    Yao

That's 16 players. Chances are good that Rockets will get some size and a starting PF/C via trade.

I'd guess Drew Gooden because of Cleveland heading into LT if they re-sign Varejao. A package of Sura+Lucas+Snyder. Sura = salary dump, Snyder = Pavlovic's replacement.

    Alston James Brooks Lucas
    McGrady Head Spanoulis
    Battier Bonzi Reed
    (Gooden) Landry Novak
    Yao (Hayes)

Teabagging someone when they are awake aint easy, I dont care who you are.

And we got some serious speed, isnt speed part of athleticism?

Not only were our picks unathletic fodder they are all short and make our SHORT team even shorter in a game that is gettting bigger on the average and more and more athletic.
Instead of five players not good enough for todays game we now have eight!!!
I just hope that the Rockets can survive all of this and can build another Championship team before Yao Ming Retires!!
Morey, so far you seem to have missed the boat, I hope you have something up your sleeve!!! If not, you might be the cause the first Houston Revolution!!
