I was talking to this girl yesterday and layin the "Mack Down" (innocent flirt) ;). And she asked when did I own my own house? And I was like "I live with my parents girl what gave you that impression?"

She then said well you said you lived near so and so, so I took it as your house and all of a sudden it was, "well I have to go" and I was cool with it I didn't care because I didn't want to hit or anything(although) I wouldn't mind. So I thought to myself it obviuosly not attractive to leak this info to girls, but they should understand that sons gotta take care of moms(lol). But seriously I'm attending college and they offered, why the hell not?

So what age is too old?

    20's....around 21 I guess, or even 20.

You "should" be out of the house when you're a junior or senior....

I'm 24 and I'm back with the parents. I feel like I'm a little too old, but it was the financially responsible thing to do.

The way I see it is, if I get that girl in the bed. It doesn't matter where I live those panties already dropped and she's coming back for more. AT MY PARENTS, and she'll get hooked up with breakfast, compliments of the chef(my mom)

In the U.S, there is a stigma living with parents. In a lot of countries, it is no big deal and guys live with their parents until they get married for economic reasons.

The TV says I am too old to live with my folks. When I go to college i better fine my own accommodations and support myself to failure.

That's a tough one. I had friends who lived at home off and on into their 30s and had other friends who moved out for good at 18. I guess it depends on if you're going on to college and beyond. It's definitely tougher no matter what your plans are after high school to afford to live on your own. Hell, I wish I could move back home and save some cash right now. Stay with the parents as long as they let you!!

There should not be a limit on when you should move out. Of course there comes to a point where one is just becoming lazy and taking advantage. But you should move out when you feel you are ready. There are so many people I know who moved out when they were young, just to move out, then end up coming back home.

I also think its very honorable to stay home and take care of mom. They did it for us for 20 or so years. Nothing wrong with returning the favor.

It depends on the situation you are in.

I know tons of people who had to move home. Student debts and a bad job market just made things really hard. I myself have my own loans to pay off but I'm lucky enough to have a solid job and I'm single so I dont exactly have very many expenses outside of said loans.

But honestly there are lazy kids who just dont want to leave and there are kids who move home because its the right thing to do financially. I've just seen a lot more kids moving home recently because of the job market.

Quit worrying about what others think when it comes to things like this. Live with them as long as they want you around or until it's cramping your style. I was raised knowing that families are families and people shouldn't think they have to leave a house because they've gotten too old. If I ever needed help, my parents said I could move back in until I'm 70. lol. I told them if they ever needed any help, they can call on me, as well. Not sure about the moving in part, but damn if I wouldn't pay their rent! ;) Of course, if you're just a bum mooching off your parents while you stay there, that's another story.

It's a great way to get a headstart in life financially if you stick around while you're hopefully in the first few years of your career - especially if you have loans to pay off or are saving for a place of your own.

If they're too old you can play the old "I don't live with my parents, they live with me!" card.

I'd say if your over 20/21 and still living at home then you screwed up somewhere.

Although it depends on the situation.
Such as living at the house while you go to college instead of wasting money etc....

But in all honesty once you turn 18 and are an adult you should be taking on responsibilities and getting a place of your own which is the first indication of independence.

The OP just wants to know at what age do chicks think you're a loser when you're still living at home. If it wasn't a big deal to the ladies, then the thread wouldn't have been made. Women find independent men more attractive then the middle aged star wars fanboys living with parents.

If you're in your mid 20's and still living with mom and dad, consider yourself lumped in with the star wars/star trek/MMORPG/wrestling dudes that are the running joke in american society.

I was out on my own just before I turned 19. That lasted 4 years before I got economically crushed and am now stuck back with my parents again. I'd say I'm too old to be here, but sometimes that's the hand you're dealt.
