Anyone have any experience with AT&T U-Verse at all? My mother-in-law just got it today and it seems pretty slick. They hooked up an "all-in-one" box that controls just about everything involving your phone, TV and internet as well as being a modem and router (wired and wireless). The menu on the TV is pretty slick as well with a ton of features. Anyway, the whole package looks pretty damn good and was wondering if anyone else has it and likes it or does it have it's issues. Thanks for any and all info.
You could try one of the six other u-verse posts: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=140494&highlight=u-verse http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=140427&highlight=u-verse http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=136190&highlight=u-verse http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=137692&highlight=u-verse http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=136236&highlight=u-verse http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=135648&highlight=u-verse
Every time someone does that I cringe. FFS, just start a new thread, no one wants to have to catch up with, nor remember, discussions from 18 freakin' months ago.
I would switch but you can only have 6 boxes but you can only have 4 working at a time. With cable I have a tv going in every room if I want to. They won't let you pay for two subscriptions either.
I like it alot, but going in you have to know two of the limitations of the service. 1. You have only one true DVR in the house. Meaning let's say you have the main box in the den, you can only initiate recordings from that box and you can only view those recordings on that TV. Kind of a pain if you record something and want to watch it in the bedroom or another TV. 2. You can only watch one HD show at a time in the house. This is the biggie. So if you want to watch Rockets vs. Lakers in HD and your gf/wife wants to watch American Idol in HD, someone is going to lose and have to watch in SD. Both of these problems are to be resolved in the coming months, but no date of when. Other than that, it has been a great service. I live alone, so the problems haven't effected me much at all.
I've heard pretty good things about them, BUT you have to be in a certain area. I hear it sucks for the Sugar Land area. According to the news, they're also coming out with windows made of wood and advance cars. (kidding)
This was a huge problem for me so I switched back to comcast unfortunatly. If you are recording an HD show, you CANNOT view any other HD channels at the same time in the same household. While it's recording HD, you can only view regular standard TV shows in the house. If you have two HDTV's or more, I highly recommend waiting until they have more lines coming into the house. (There are only 4 lines going into the house and HD service takes up 3 lines). Also another thing that bugged me was if the cable modem is off or resetting, you cannot view the TV at all until it turns back on. Comcast's cable modem is just for the internet and is independant of the TV Signal.
I have had the U-300 with HD since last year. I highly recommend it. ChenZen and dskillz, somehow I have been able to watch TWO HD shows, but I don't know how I did it. I believe that I may have switched the feed from 1080i to 720p (I know, I know, not truly 'HD'), and have watched different shows. Also, I forget when it changed, but I used to be able to watch ALL the on-demand movies from all channels, but now I can only watch the on-demand movies from the channels for which I subscribe.
After posting this, I did some research around the net to get more people's take on it. It seems people like it but that it has it's glitches like feed pausing all the time, DVR not working properly, a lot of outages, bad picture (pixelated, etc), etc. Seems like a hell of a deal and looks it has some real potential, but I just decided to re-check it out next year, especially to see what experience my mother-in-law has with it. Right now I'm pretty satisfied with my DishNetwork.
Yes. FSNHD is 1753, Houston FSN is standard on 755. I tell you, what I like mostly about my deal with U-verse is that I can watch Rockets' games whether it is raining or cloudy outside or NOT, unlike with what I used to experience with Cry-recTV.
Not available where I live WTF I live inside the loop I thought I got everything. I already have their home phone and dsl.
I haven't had any glitches like those, nothing like that. Slowly, as far as the 2 HD feeds at one time, I have heard that it has been on and off a few times for testing. Also, they are going to have media share, meaning if you have a windows pc, you can look at photos, and listen to music on your pc through your TVs.
Sorry, I know this is a month old. It does have it but it DOES NOT WORK! I am pissed. I just got u-verse and I was excited to see the game in HD and it doesn't even show. Yet everyone that has Comcast gets to see the game in HD. This is bs. I guess I shoulda stuck w/ Comcast. I'd call and b**** about it, but it's the last game of the season, and the rest will be on TNT so we'll be okay. I'll just wait until next season and hopefully it'll be fixed before I call.
No, sir, not today's game. It wasn't on HD. Besides, what proof do you have that the peeps who have ComCrap saw it on High Definition? I don't believe it. I will record the replay on 755 at 12 midnight to see if there was or wasn't a "This game is on FSN HD" advertisement at the beginning of the game, sir. Please kindly wait for me to check, or you can stay up. EDIT: You're right, sir. The replay at midnight shows "Presented on FSN HD". I failed. Maybe just this one game and another way back in November could be the ones I didn't see that were in HD. You were right. What about the TNT game... ? Did you watch THAT on HD? If so, then HD was working, and only FSNHD wasn't.
