Anyone down for watching the game Friday night? I have a feeling it will be the clincher.

Well, I may actually be going to Dallas that night to help a friend move. It depends on me finding someone to take care of my dog. If not, we'll make sure the old man doesn't have to travel too far. :)

I'll be at the game....I was hoping to see Clemens clinch it but looks like they moved him back a day.....Andy can just as easily lock it up!

Astros viewing party sounds great. The atmosphere was awesome last year during the playoffs, to the point where I really don't like watching them at home anymore during this time of year. Hope it's not too far away.

I could only make it this weekend if it was close to home, because I'm on-call with work. Going out to watch the playoff games last year was nuts. I can remember going up to BW3's 3 hours before gametime on a few occasions just to reserve a table!

I was there for 4 games during the NLCS as well. I was wondering what kind of fire code was broken during that game 7. People were leaning against the back of the walls 20 minutes before game time, way before Biggio hit that leadoff HR.

Classic moment, game 1 vs Braves in NLDS:

Braves Fan (after tauning astros fans over the first inning): WHOOO!!

Same Braves Fan (After Bagwell's HR making the game an official blowout and an Astros fan returned the taunting): DON'T JUDGE ME... YOU DON'T KNOW ME!!!

    Tex,

You can make it to the Boonies!!! It only takes my wife 15 minutes with no traffic!! :)

    Harrisment,

Which Nick's did you go to that you and your wife didn't like it? The one on Wilcrest or the one just off Westheimer?

Nope. What is it and where is it located?

One place that I have discovered for eating/drinking/sports watching is Bayou City Wings Sports Bar. There are four all over town but the one closest to me is at Long Point and Wirt Road. They make some righteous wings over there!

It's behind Baby Dolls at Westheimer and Winrock. It's a cool little place with cheap beer and a lot of tvs. Doesn't get as crowded as I like sometimes though, but that's not always a bad thing. You also get some talent from the nearby establishments coming in for beers.

    Isn't that the boonies?? :)

OK, now I know where you are talking about. I've been in there before, but it's been a few years. Well, technically, Bayou City Wings is in the boonies, but you know I will drive a good way for some righteous wings!

I'll let you know. If I find someone for my dog, I probably will be. I may have to hit up Wizards since I haven't been there in a while. :)

We got my dogs boarded not too long ago at a place called Pets Chalet, on Wilcrest just north of Briar Forest. The lady there is kinda crazy, but we got the feeling our dogs were in good hands.

The Nick's place we went to is the one on Westheimer and Rocky Ridge. I've never been to the Nick's on Wilcrest.

We went up to the Dugout this past Saturday, it was the only thing open on our side of town. Our electricity was out at that point, so it was nice to head up there and enjoy some cold beverages and watch college ball. We also tried their food for the first time, which was really good. I'm liking that place more and more everytime we go.

How much was it? I'll probably stay rather than pay someone to look after the dog.

Yeah, that place is hit and miss. Sounds like you showed up on a miss. Nick's on Wilcrest is awesome for Packers games.

Yeah, I really dig that place. If I'm in town, that's where I'm going on Sunday. I've had the burger, wings, cheese sticks and nachos there, and they were all great. My buddy had the club sandwich and said it was the best he ever had. Cheap beer, too. On Sundays, they do squares for the Texans game, have shotgun pots and provide fantasy updates if you don't have your laptop up there.
