I'm back with a vengeance. The Cubs better watch out! I'll be at Sunday's game with my son to boo there sorry butts!! All game talk goes in here. Please do not give play by play. If you need play by play go to CBS, ESPN, or Yahoo. Pitching Probables: 9-29 Glendon Rusch (8-8, 4.62) vs. Wandy Rodriguez (10-9, 5.62) 7:05 on FSSW 9-30 Carlos Zambrano (14-6, 3.33) vs. Andy Pettitte (17-9, 2.42) 7:05 on FSSW 10-01 Jerome Williams (6-9, 4.28) vs. Roger Clemens (12-8, 1.89) 3:10 on FOX 10-02 Greg Maddux (13-14, 4.18) vs. Roy Oswalt (19-12, 2.86) 1:05 on FSSW
The beauty of this (I'm not sure if Garner planned it with the off days, or it just worked out this way) is even worst case and we don't clinch until a tiebreaker on Monday, our playoff rotation would still start with Pettitte, Clemens, and Oswalt, assuming our playoffs start on Wednesday. None of this starting with Backe or Wandy or Pete Munro crap.
Even though it will be meaningless game....I would like to see Oswalt get his 20th W in the last game despite only getting 4.16 runs per game.
Lets go Astros!!!! So pumped up, must leave work early (west coast) to catch the game. I love this time of year.
Mix equal parts of gasoline and frozen orange juice concentrate you can make napalm. Minute Maid Park, Enron. Pretty interesting huh. wwww
Tim Purpura said on 610 that this will be their rotation regardless if they clinch or not. Once they clinch though Clemens, Pettite, and Oswalt will be held on a 40-60 pitch count. (probably meaning they'll pitch 5 innings)
It's not that simple, that is just all that Chuck Palahniuk's publisher would allow in the book ;-) Back on subject, I say we win 3 of 4... WWLW, even with scratch starters on Saturday and Sunday.
WHOO! Last series of the season baby! And who better to beat on than the cubbies?! I hope Oswalt can het his 20th win, back to back 20 win years would be awesome. I'm so pumped right now. Go Stros!
i can't freaking wait. i hope barrett is standing right beside the astros celebration come clinch time. we clinched the division in 97 in a game against the cubs...let's do it again friday night.
Sure did, i was there for that one and just might be there again Friday night to see this one. Not another team i'd rather clinch against
While I'd love to see him win 20, I'd much rather we wrap this puppy up by Friday and see him in Game one in the NLDS.
I'd actually want Pettite. He's been our best pitcher throughout the second half of the season, and he's definitely got the experience factor. Also, Roy has MUCH better numbers at home, than on the road, this year... so does Backe. Frankly, I think the rotation is absolutely perfect...
Gonna be at the game tonight baby! Wish I was there to see them clinch on Firday, but I'll be in Fort Worth with my fiance No worries, I was at her house last year when we clinched and threw my hand into her celling fan from celebrating!
