I was thinking the same thing.. Kinda like that Will Farrell baseball film where he got traded in the middle of a game lol
If the price was too high it's absolutely not a fail. You don't make trades just so you can say you did something. We know they wanted to make a deal, but it was a sellers market.
It's a fail because the prime competition in the division just got better and we're 6 games behind them as is. I'm not advocating for them totally depleting their system but they REALLY needed another vet bat and Beltran would have really helped. Very disappointed. Can't bank on prospects being the only way to build your team. Prospects don't always pan out, even highly touted prospects.

I'm not really sure I understand this as he's been a really good long reliever this year. Is this just a salary dump or is the prospect really worth it?
We need room on the roster for guys like Musgrove. The prospect doesnt hurt, but it mostly clears some room to bring in guys that are deserving of a shot.
I can understand that, but Feldman has been beyond solid in the pen, surely there were 3-4 other pitchers that we should have tried unloading first.
Sucks man. Lowrie and Feldman signed with us because they wanted to be here in Houston. Now theyre both gone. Much respect to Feldman for being a team guy and to do what was asked of him, like moving to the pen. Wish nothing but luck to that man.
Feldman signed here because we gave him more money than anybody else. Had nothing to do with his love for Houston. I wish him the best as well, but he was gone after this year anyway and now we get to see what we have in Musgrove.
