The two most diappointing teams this year. Hopefully it will be fun to watch. Bring up the rest of the kids.

we must win the next few series with the phillies and cubs because that will be our last chance at the wild card

I think we take 2 out 3 and Berkman finally has a breakout series in the second half.

I try, but it gets so painful to watch.

I think we can (and really should with those starters) win the series. Logically, one would think sweep. Since logic has nothing to do with the Astros to this point of the season...WWL

Well, I'm going to the game tonight. With my track record seeing the Stros in person the past couple years, that just about guarantees a loss ...

    A 5 run inning! Incredible!

Chavez with the clutch, 2-out, bases loaded double.

Well I'll be, It is possible! The Astros have won consecutive games! Go Stros! If it wasn't for the horrendous play by the other wild card teams, we would be so far out of the "race".

Time for a decent length winning streak!

Well, that was fun! First time I've seen the Stros win in person in a long time.

It was a great night for a baseball game. About 70 degrees with a nice breeze. The stadium was packed. My buddy and I couldn't figure out why it would be packed for two teams playing horribly until we remembered it was Randy Wolf bobblehead night for kids 14 and under.

Nothing like a bobblehead to fill a stadium ...

The best part of the new Phillies stadium is the visitors bullpen 5 feet below the fans on Ashburn Alley. So I was able to watch Oswalt warm up from up close. Man, I don't think I had any idea how fast these guys threw -- never been that close to a big leage pitcher. Some Phillie fan was trying to rattle Oswalt, saying stuff like "What's it like being the biggest disappointment in baseball? At least we can see the Braves -- you need a telescope to see the Cardinals."

Wish I could've seen that brain surgeon during the five-run inning ...

When Viz went up with the bases loaded, I told my buddy to watch out -- Viz can be really clutch. Had no idea it would be Chavez with the big hit.

Did they show our Bonds-like shift on Thome on TV? Ensberg was playing at second, and Viz was where Kent normally sets up. The outfield didn't shift as dramatically, though.

Pretty boring game other than the big inning. Oswalt didn't seem to have the pop on his fastball he usually does, but the Philles batters were so inept up there he still mowed them down. Quick game, too -- Oswalt worked fast as usual.

Went over to the bullpen area in the 8th and saw a bunch of Astro relievers looking up into the crowd overhead. Thought at first that they were throwing balls to kids until I realized Harville, Lidge, and a few others were chatting up hotties in the crowd. It was pretty funny except for the fact that the girls looked like they were about 16. :D

Phillie fans booed the team mercilessly throughout the game. Listened to the radio call in show on the drive home, and, in one 45 second span the host called the Phillies "gutless," "pathetic," and even "despicable." Gotta love Philly fans!

Glad to hear you saw a win, Last game I went to was in Houston a few weeks ago and Oswalt was the pitcher. Man, he sure does throw a quick game.
