I want to try something new for this baseball season. I would like it to be something fun to help us get through a day without the "Stros. So on off days I am going to create a thread with a theme. I would like to have a different theme each off day (as long as I can come up with something fresh and people actually post here). If you have a suggestion feel free to email me through the board and we can try it out on an off day. I have a few already made up to get us through the first few days. Each off day I will post a stickied thread with rules for the thread. Without further delay, I present the first "Astros Off Day Thread" Today's theme: Which Astros fan am I? Rules: 1) You must make a post in the style of someone on the board. 2) The subject matter must pertain to the Astros. 3) You must keep it civil (no personal attacks). This is for fun not for serious discussion. 4) No arguing. The opinions posted here are not up for debate (do that in the proper location) 5) The object is to have a little fun and blow off steam on an off day. Don't take it serious and don't get offended; get even! After the post is made feel free to guess "Which Astros fan am I?" Just a heads up. the next off day is April 23rd. The theme that day will be something Photoshop related!
I'll start off with an easy one: "I love the Astros, even if they are 0-161. There is still that chance they can win game 162. The only thing that could make me love the Astros more would be if Dave Matthews always sang the National Anthem at their games and if they showed Seinfeld clips during the 7th inning stretch."
good move, It is bowling night for me than I will go home and watch the NBA game or maybe a movie. Today=not too bad now yesterday I was at work with the tv pulled up waiting for a game.
Oh yeah I forgot, I watch all the games and I am very die hard. I'm not a fan of lots of things the organization has done but I sure want them to win.
"I think the Astros will call up Roger Clemens unborn grandchild if Roger signs with us. I also think it's unprofessional for Chris Burke to ever get an out."
RM95. Anybody who thinks we should trade Morgan Ensberg is an idiot. Look at his career average in OBP and OPS. Look at his total win shares the last 2 years amongst starting 3B. God, I love Morgan Ensberg!
was just gonna say its one of 2 people heres one Is there anything more disgraceful than the Astros honoring the great Jackie Robinson by having a Panamanian (Carlos Lee) wear his number. Maybe if we had an actual African American player, we could honor him properly
You guys are a bunch of idiots. Brad Lidge had a great stretch of 10 games in September. yea, i know. i just served up a Lidge fastball.
Anyone who trades three legends like Willy Taveras, Taylor Buchholz and Jason Hirsh for anything less than Albert Pujols or Johan Santana is clueless. It's probably because Purpura's fat. Willy T has greatness written all over him!
I have bought tickets in the Crawford Boxes even though I couldn't get them together. I'd rather have that experience 2 rows separated from a friend (with a chance of moving together) than to sit anywhere else together.
Another one that probably could be a group rather than one person: "The Astros just traded Wandy Rodriguez to the Yankees for Jeter and A-Rod, oh and the Yanks are picking up the majority of both salaires. But guess what... wait for it....wait for it.... POOPOORA IS STILL FATTTTT!!!!" edit: Cat got his in before me!
Oh I have a perfect one: "The Astor's suck. Phil Gardener should be fared. Link Bergman cant hit and he is fat. Carl Lee is making two much money. Brad Everett and Adam Ausmus are crap."
“All of Brad Lidge’s troubles can be traced back to that one hanging slider he threw to Albert Pujols in the NLCS. There were absolutely no warning signs before that. It’s not as if he almost blew the game before and was only saved by a dramatic game-ending DP. And there’s absolutely no evidence of Lidge having struggled at the end of the 2005 season and almost costing the Stros a playoff berth during the final series against the Cubs. Nope, it all comes down to that one pitch. I know this because I read it on the Internets.”
