    According to MLBTR

The Astros will take on most of Carlos' contract to facilitate a trade and expect to get decent returns on Wandy and Meyers.

I for one would welcome a Lee trade. I am not sure who might bite on that, but if the 'Stros take on most of the deal you have to believe someone may try to take them up on it. Doesn't Lee have veto power now? That may be the stumbling block.

I believe there is a list of 10 teams he can no longer block a trade to. If the Astros are willing to take on a majority of his contract, he could be very valuable to an AL team as a DH.

    Oh wait...

I think Lee is far more likely to be moved at the deadline than before the season.

I think somebody will pony up for Wandy. Myers on the other hand has $15 million guaranteed to him. I think the Astros would need to eat half of that in order to move him.

Both Wandy and Meyers are making fair market value salaries. Any dollars involved in their trades should go to cover the value of he prospects versus paying down their salaries.

If the Astros have to pay most of Lee's salary I would rather just keep him on the team. If they unload his salary it would definitely be worth trading him.

Lets say they kicked in $14 million, that is still saving $5 million, and they would probably get something in return.

Yes, obviously it depends on what the Astros would get in return as well as how much they still have to pay.

Who's in charge of making trades with no GM? Do we have an acting GM?

Hey, if he can make some great trades, maybe he can earn the job for himself with no other candidates...

They've already said publicly that he isn't a candidate at all...which makes you wonder...why say that publicly at all? Doesn't it kind of hamstring him in negotiations?

He isn't a candidate, because he is more involved with player contracts and they want someone that has experience in player development.

Is it possible there will be more interest in Wandy now that Gio Gonzalez has been moved?
