MLB is going nuts with these suspensions. Kent has no business getting 2 games for his actions while Tino Martinez instigates a brawl against Arizona and gets only 5 games.

Hope he doesn't appeal and starts the suspension now. If he appeals it, he will most likely miss 2 games later in the season. Take your medicine now.

But if he appeals, it most likely goes down to a 1 game suspension.... which he can serve on a day which he would normally be given a "day off". (see day game against San Diego).

    True.

Blum has shown to be a capable backup, so I would rather have Kent in the lineup when we face the Cubs and Cards later on instead of the Mets now.

I just don't get why he even deserved a suspension. He didn't himself touch hollowell and its a week later and now you decide on this.

What is Watson(I believe he handles disciplinary action for MLB) thinking? This isn't the first time this year a suspension was mishandled, just look at sosa getting his corked bat suspension reduced to 8 games wasn't it?

    Insane.

I agree. That was a crazy overreaction.
    Kent, not Sosa. ;-)

I think that the MLB is getting to be a bit inconsistent in the way it is doling out fines and suspensions these days. Kent didn't even touch the ump. They should have a set standard on what constitutes a 2-day suspension, a 3-day suspension, etc.

At this point, I think he should just accept it and serve the suspension. From the way Milo talks during the broadcasts, Kent can barely run these days and a couple of days off might do him some good.

I say Kent appeals it for now. If the appeal does not get reviewed before Saturday's game, then drop it. Take off Saturaday nights game and Sunday days game and be ready to go for the Cubs.

Another reason for the appeal is Hidalgo being out.

I'd rather not have both Kent and Hidalgo out of the lineup if there's a way to prevent that. Hidalgo should be back in a couple days, so with the appeal, Doggy will be ready to go when Kent has to sit his 1 or 2 games.

    Does this suck or what...

I don't agree with the suspension, but Watson should have done this so he could have served in Monday and Tuesday...

    Bad timing...

He should serve it now; sit against the Mets. That loss yesterday (10-1) was a fluke. The Mets are a HORRIBLE team; if we need Kent that badly right now, then our team is worse than I thought. Besides, I'd rather have him in facing Montreal and the Cubs/Cards later than have him in now and lose him down the stretch. Two games...what a load of BS...

He ended up dropping it and sitting last night and will finish it out tomorrow.
