With all-star balloting coming to a close and no Astros with a chance to get voted in, which astros deserve to be placed on the All-star team and who will actually get there? Ensberg, Clemens, and Oswalt are the most deserving, but Clemens seems to be the only sure-fire choice and Baseball Tonight guys say Ensberg should go.
Ensberg should go... but he won't get a chance to since the fans are voting in Rolen. If Rolen was ineligible (as he should be, since he's been injured most of the year), Aramis would win the fans vote... and Ensberg would most definitely be there as his backup. In the end, Clemens definitely goes (hell... he's in the commercial promoting the game, for christ's sake)... and Oswalt has an outside shot of making it (although TLR will probably take his own Matt Morris and Chris Carpenter over Roy Oswalt).
Roy Oswalt, Roger Clemens, Morgan Ensberg, Brad Lidge all deserve to go. But I think Roger and Morgan will be the only ones to go since you can't have 4 all-stars from a losing team.
Clemens and Roy should both be locks for the game - Clemens has the best ERA in the NL by half a frickin' run. Roy's managed to get to double digit wins despite anemic run support on the strength of a 2.5 ERA, behind only Clemens and Dontrelle in the league. Morgan is going to get screwed when Rolen makes the game. That's it.
