The Houston Astros are first in the National League Central!!!

Wow, this team is really exciting to watch and be a fan of. I honestly believe that they will go all the way and bring us our first baseball title ever. Here's to us staying in first place, holding off the Cubs and Cardinals, and going the distance!!

It might just be an NL title....but I tend to agree, Vengeance. This team is playing about as good as any in the majors right about now. Their lineup is so good it's sick

Tonight's game was truly excellent. I don't think the Cubs can keep up with the Astros, even if all their players stay healthy. The Astros have so much offensive firepower and they are ridiculously deep. We also have the luxury of playing either Richard Hidalgo or Daryle Ward on any given night, depending on the opposing pitcher. Did you guys see the ridiculous bomb by Daryle Ward to right field? That was unbelievable, I am so glad we didn't trade him.

    GO 'STROS !!!

I was at tonights game and it was awesome with a capital A, this is our year. We had seats above home plate so the view was excellent. Oh and by the way I really do have a gut feeling mcclane will shell out the money this offseason, i know wagner is a given, but i think hell resign moises too, the way he is hitting plus his tremendous defense in right field, i also see vinny back. Im loving it and now that we are in first we wont let it go, i honestly believe that.

And ya know what's neat is that there's just such a special feel to this team. During each of our other 3 division titles, it wasn't quite this fun. Even when we had Randy Johnson (although man did that rock . . . I went to his first game as an Astro -- unfreakin'believable!), there wasn't the general feeling that people have this year. The excitement in Houston is palpable. Everyone is talking about the Astros, it's all over the newspaper, the news, the radio, everywhere. People here are really getting excited about the season.

And they have reason to be excited, because like I said, there is a special feel to this team. This team just wins. It flat out wins. The 'stros get hits when needed, get outs when needed, and are just putting 110% effort out every night. And this team isn't just doing well with power. Our pitching has been very solid, and we've been able to manufacture runs by getting singles and doubles to drive in runners.

    GO ASTROS!!

Well, if anyone here happens to be interested, I'm offering a B+P at Minarets.net. The offer is here.

Just to inform those of you who don't know, a B+P is blank and postage. You send me blank CDs and a SASE, and I burn copies of bootlegs, then mail them back to you. My list is here if you're interested. This is off-topic, but it's Astros-related, so there.

    Anyhow, GO ASTROS!!!

    I sense a sweep coming on . . .

Yeah was at the game tonight too. It was a blast. Don't know how the cubs have won so many games thus far from looking at that lineup. Hopefully the Cubs luck begin to run out. As for Hidalgo has been struggling since thr first 2 weeks of season, it was about time Dierker put in ward or merced. If Hidalgo cant turn it around by the mid-sept maybe they should relegate doggie to the bench.

Is it just me or does Sosa have our number every time out??? He homered and had 3 rbis last night. The last game I went to, Sosa hit two towering homers off Dave Mlicki. I say lets ALWAYS pitch around him or intentionally walk him. I'm not scared of old man McGriff. This Cubs lineup sucks, and as long as Sosa isn't being pitched to, it can do only minimal damage.

Sosa is an intense hitter, and he has a very quick bat. Even his singles were off the wall. Is he a free agent next year? I don't like him much right now, but would love to have him play for the Stros.

I seriously doubt it. Poke around the NBA and fantasy boards and you'll see...

If you're so proud of your reputation on those boards, why don't you head on back to where people ostensibly give a **** about it?

Probably because I like it here. It's a free board, isn't it?

Feel free to ignore me if you wish.
