I can't believe they're actually booing Shane Reynolds. I can't believe how many times in my life I'm ashamed to be associated with the majority of other Houston fans.
calm down just a little bit. they've done it everywhere else bonds has gone and not been pitched too. And no one says they're true astros fans. they just showed up to see bonds hit a homer, not root for the stros. and when shane went out, he got a nice round of applause.
Well, then it's sad that Houston fans aren't showing up in a freakin' pennant race to cheer the team. BTW, before anyone says something, I live in Austin, and have still managed to make it to 7 games this year. I'd be at the majority of them if I lived in Houston. Also, I want Barry to break the record.
Take out the word "fans" in the title, and it still would apply. I'm starting to seriously worry if we will even get that one more win to make the playoffs...
Are these the same fans who gave Mark McGwire a standing ovation for hitting a HR which I believe ended up as the game winning run? How do you think the Astros pitcher felt? The opponent gets cheered at his home ballpark. I'm not saying to boo McGwire, but this is not 1998. Give the home guys some support.
If the "fans" are going to boo their own pitcher in the middle of a playoff fight, then I'd rather them not even go.
The thing that pisses me off the most is "fans" starting the wave when the visitor is batting. Who are these morons? Awhile back some idiots were doing that against Cin, the rally that inning was the winning rally. Tonight some people were doing it again. Theats when the solo homerun came. It pissed me off so much. Don't people know when to start a wave. Its only been around for 20 years.
Just curious...why is ANYONE watching the fans? Isn't the point to watch the game??? Just wondering.
This is a recurring theme with the major sports teams in Houston. I'm very interested to see how the city supports the football team around their 4th anniversary.
I used to not quite buy into the reputation given to the average Houston sports fan - until the Rockets somehow had the worst attendance in the league last year. WTF?? That means below teams like the Grizzlies and Hawks for God's sake. I'll tell you this. If I lived closer to Houston, and had the money, there'd be one more season ticket holder regardless.
The last 3 or 4 cities that SF visited have booed their own pitchers. In particular, LA did so and they are in a race directly against SF. I guess all teams have sucky fans.
Which brings me to the point, is Cythia Cooper the only player in major sports history to win every single every year she played?
