    Oh boy...

    Pitching Probables

    8/11 Miller vs Wood

    8/12 Redding vs Zambrano

    8/13 Robertson vs Estes

    8/14 Fernandez vs Clement

4 game series coming up against the Cubbies. We lost the last series to them in Houston 2-1 I believe. Lets hope we can get 3 of 4...or ata minimum a series split.
Think the Astros can do it?

I hate their record against teams above .500. I hope they can turn that statistic around.

Game at 7:05PM on Channel 51.

Let's see if Ausmus has a new offensive spark since last nights homer...doubt it. Though it would be good.

    GO 'STROS!!

'Stros 3-1 with the only loss to Clement.

    Series split, 2-2.

As long as we can leave Chicago in 1st place, I am content.

The Astros loss/win streak goes back to July 29th. It's annoying.

We usually play pretty well in Wrigley.

    2-2.

I hate 4 game series. What's the point?

    Some info about tonights game:

    Tonights Pitching matchup:

    HOU: RHP Wade Miller
    8-10, 4.69 in 2003
    1-1, 3.86 in 2003 vs. CHI
    4-2, 4.53 lifetime vs. CHI

    CHI: RHP Kerry Wood
    11-8, 3.44 in 2003
    0-1, 7.50 in 2003 vs. HOU
    5-3, 3.44 lifetime vs. HOU

Wood is coming off a 10K 7 1/3 inning game against the Padres.

Miller had a good game his last time up with six hits in six innings and allowing only 1 run.

Pitching is going to be the main part of this series.

**Sosa is batting .115 against the stros this year.
***Bagwell is batting .118 and Kent is .222 against Cub pitching this year.
****Ensberg is hitting.471 (8-17) this year against the cubs.

I had no idea that these players were hitting like this against each other....

Ok i will stop posting until the game....maybe....

You can see...I am excited about tonights game. Go Stros.;)

One reason is that they don't necessarily play each team a "multiple of 3" times. They play the Cubs 16 times.

Another reason is scheduling. It may be easier to fit in a 2 game series, a 3 game series and a 4 game series against a team than 3 3 games series.

3 out of 4...Our bullpen will give us that competitive advantage, and our middle lineup will continue to smack the ball...

We should win 3 of 4, but I thought we'd win 2 or 3 vs. the Mets...

I'm glad Prior isn't on the hill...He was pretty good yesterday...

    Go Stros'...

Ya know, we don't get enough credit for our pitching, but our team ERA is actually lower then the Cubs, yet they're being given all the credit for their pitching staff, which is no doubt phenomenal. But I thought it was funny that our pitching ERA is lower then the Cubs, and the funny thing is, there isn't a single career year going on right now from either of our aces in Miller and Oswalt. I mean could you imagine how far ahead we'd be if they were doing their old usual thing? I find that to be kind of scary given the fact that no one on our team is playing outstanding, yet we're simply putting out a good team effort and getting the job done.

It's all thanks to the bullpen. The relievers have been so great this year.

Ron Villone has been a spectacular surprise too. And Robertson.

i think if somehow dontrelle willis does poorly for the rest of the season, and robertson can be consistent, hes gotta chance at ROY

IMO, Dontrelle has pitched HUGE in HUGE games (outpitched the Unit on National TV). He has the media behind him. Robertson has had a great season, but Willis has the ROY locked down already. I'd just love to see Robertson finish STRONG to take up some of the slack that Oswalt has created (I can't believe I just typed that last sentence - only do to injury has Oswalt generated slack - only due to injury - I'm disgusted with myself... I hate me for saying that.)

talkin about the media not supporting robertson...espn.com has an article about rookie pitchers who are bound to succeed, and they have not mentioned robertson...they mentioned willis, web, and jerome williams of the giants?? id really like robertson to show them what he really is about for the rest of the season.

A very simple reason - their criteria was that the player be under 25. Robertson is 26.
