What happened to this guy? I remember seeing his tough 3 years ago, and I thought he was sick. Then he went out with some injuries, and I never heard of him again. Did he retire? That sucks...

I think you accidently put this in the wrong forum ... maybe he switched sports?

But really, I can't remember if they released him or if another team claimed him, but he is no longer in the Astros system IIRC.

Interesting. I was just trying to find out about this guy last night myself. Wasn't he released a 2nd time by us? I'd like to find out what happened. He was electric when he was younger and I was really hoping he could recover and pitch again.

I remember the play. The slide into 2nd base was unnecessary. After the side was out and he went to the mound, the first guy hit a home run. That was ballgame for Carlos Hernandez. His stuff was wicked and I though he was equal to Oswalt.

I was at that game :( ... what a shame, but I'll bet there are many pitchers that had similar things happen, but at lower levels so we dont hear as much about it
