Redding-Sheets should be a good match up. Sheets always seems to pitch tough against us. I predict a 'Stros sweep.

Miller owns Miller Park, maybe they named it with him in mind. Roy vs Davis, who the hell is this guy? Redding vs. Sheets will be good indeed. 2 wins at worst in this series, if they can't do that, it's gonna be a long season. I know it's early but still.

Wonder how many more AB's or even games 'till Berkman gets a hit...

Redding will only give up 3 ER, but I think Sheets will give up less.

.500 after the first two series and on to Busch!

is this a joke, berkman one year wonder? he's had TWO absolutey monster seasons(.331, 34, and 126 in '01, and .292, 42, and 128 in '02) and has yet to even have one below average season among his previous 4(not counting '99 when he only had 93 ab's)

last year was below par but he still batted .288 with 25 homers and 93 rbis. i would hardly call that poor.

i'm waiting for his first hit too but lets not get carried away, he's still a damn good player.

I agree he will come around in the next few games. He usually has a slow start, and remember there have only been 3 games. It just seems that he's not seeing the ball that well right now. He's missing the good pitches and making contact and grounding out on the bad ones. Just be patient with him he'll come around soon.

Dierk said last night that it was because he was expanding his strike zone.

he said he normally lays off of the corner pitches and has a tight strike zone. he will normally foul off those other pitches.

my observation is he is trying to pull it too much, which he did last season. he is worried about his numbers. which isnt good.

id like to just see him hit it anywhere.

Doug Davis used to be with the Rangers. He has some talent, but Roy should dominate thsi matchup. Wade will hopefully do his regular thing and kill the Brewers. I am actually excited to see Tim Redding pitch. I think he is going to have a huge year (somewhere around 15 wins). This should be a sweep and get us back over .500 for the rest of the season.

WWW Brewers have some payback coming to them after the debacle at the end of last season.

Any stros fans in Brewer-land going to the games? I'm driving up from Iowa to catch the Saturday and Sunday games. No Petite or Clemons unfortunately but I can't complain about getting to see Oswalt on Sunday. I'll be wearing the rainbow-gut throwback jersey to lend all of the mojo I have to the team!

I wish. Had I been smart, I'd have realized that this was Easter weekend and my parents live about an hour from downtown Milwaukee.

We've got to start capitalizing when we have men on base. I always get worried when we score a bunch of runs in one game (game 3 vs. SF). We should save them for when we really need them.

The day that teams learn how to "save runs till they need them" is the day that this same team solves the world's pollution problems, cures cancer, and is able to get Yao and SF3 to coexist! :D

But, I agree... too many times last year, this offense was feast or famine... which indicates that once they get rolling, they can't be stopped... but if they're not rolling, don't count on much.

I actually was impressed with their approach the first two games (at the plate). While they still need to get clutch big hits, they're not by any means getting dominated or overmatched at the plate. They're being patient, getting on base, creating havoc... things that this team has pretty much failed to do in most of their losses the past 2 years.

The big hits will come eventually... provided we can continue to set the table as well as we have been.

sheets I predict will win that game, although I'd love a sweep, I'd certainly settle for 2 out of 3 :)
