I feel like a number of diehard critics of all things related to democrats or Obama have really missed a decent opportunity to show some wit.

The only slang I've seen offered up for the Stimulus Package is "Porkulus." That's very poor -- it doesn't sound smooth, doesn't sound like the word stimulus, makes an inaccurate joke, and brings up one of John McCain's obsessions when you need to move on from the election season. Whatever you think of the legislation, it does not have congressional earmarks.

So I write to offer some alternatives. If nothing else, I hope to get those creative juices flowing for the critics, assuming those juices didn't seize up like so much sap to amber.

DIMULUS: Really gets to the point of stupidity for those who argue it is a terrible idea.

STIMULURCH: Points to a democratic congress walking without clear leadership, and perhaps like a drunken sailor.

STIMULUS WRECKAGE: Sounds a lot like the actual term and again gets right to the point of the sharpest criticism, namely that you think it won't work at all and will further bankrupt our future.

SPENDULUS or SPEND-you-lust: Get back to the meat and spuds of calling liberals the bigger spenders, like they were in the early 20th century!

DRACULUS: Doesn't make much sense, but it involves blood sucking (as in the future tax burden of our kids) and just sounds cool. Even this one is a work of staggering genius in a backdrop of things like "B-Fro."

Okay, I thought of those just in the time it took me to type this. Please add your own ideas, other than "porkulus" (sic).

For what it's worth, I prefer something like Thin-ulus, because I agree with the economists who say it isn't big enough. New energy and information grids, coast to coast, should have been the minimum, and doing the work now would get us a rare price opportunity.

Great thread. My favorites are DIMULUS and STIMULURCH. Although with the popularity of Pickens Plan and his media success with the Sheeple and other intellectually challenged, how about following down a similar road for naming the stimulus package:

    HUSSEIN'S PLAN

Not completely the same, but I wrote this recently, as my business plan proposal for GM.

If this 'bubble' that you speak of collapses, it will be on Obama's watch. Remember that everything was supposed to get better once he was elected. It has not. In fact, since he has been elected, the market has done nothing but tank because absolutely no legit investors have confidence in his schemes.

I haven't checked to see if the oceans have stopped rising yet, as he promised they would.

well....uh.....ummmmmmm, I divined it by misreading your sentence and then making the unrelated statement that the markets don't like the flimflamulous....errr, stimulous package.

You see, the use of poor reading comprehension allows me to take the conversation in any direction I choose (except the correct direction).

Oh indeed. Well I'm glad it's the stimulus itself that moves the markets and nothing else. How much did you make shorting today? Congressional Republicans I imagine are uber-rich recently.

Are you denying that the markets showed clear disfavor with the last stimulous package?

You mean the "illigit investors." The legit ones got wiped out months ago.

And frankly, I don't give a damn about the psychology of the investor class. That psychology went a long ways towards getting us where we are now and they should suffer the consequences.
