The College Station Fire Department and CSPD personnel responded to a civil disturbance in which a person had been knocked unconscious, according to a press release issued by CSPD. The report of the fight came at 3:30 a.m. Friday at 950 Colgate near Wolf Pen Creek Park in College Station. The victim, identified as freshman finance major Bryan Demartino, was found lying on the sidewalk, disoriented and bleeding from the head, said Sgt. M. Dean of CSPD. Demartino was taken to the College Station Medical Center by ambulance and put in intensive care. He remained in intensive care for most of Friday and was released from the hospital Saturday, a College Station Medical Center official reported. Upon arrival to the hospital, Demartino's condition was determined to be worse than originally expected by the police and doctors and he was placed in intensive care, Dean said. Police are still investigating whether a weapon was used in the assault. A suspect has been identified for the assault, Dean said, but the name cannot be revealed unless a decision is made to make an arrest. It is unclear whether the suspect knew Demartino before the crime, Dean said. Jessica Burrus, Demartino's friend and a freshman business administration major, said Demartino has returned to his home in San Antonio, but is doing fine. Burrus said the suspect, who was apparently angry because Demartino was making fun of the Houston Rockets basketball team, hit him in the head. Demartino fell and hit his head on a street curb, knocking him unconscious, she said. The suspect had been chased away by the party's attendees before the police arrived, according to the CSPD press release. The assault had several witnesses, Dean said, but police could not release their information without risking interference with the investigation.
Sounds like the guy deserved it In all seriousness though, I'm a die hard and I live and die with wins and losses, but I don't understand the insane mentality of some people.
almost happend to a guy at chilis during the mavs rockets playoff game.. game 4 to be exact. mavs fan sitting in westheimer houston... rooting against our boys, if only he wasnt in his 50's and diidnt have his wife with him.
I was at Game 3 of the playoffs last year and a guy showed up in the upper deck with a Nowitski jersey on. It got really heated but cooler heads prevailed, fortunately for him.
Hmmmm.....Amfootball has gone AWOL as of late..... Seriously, someone on this board's gotta 'fess up to this.
[Snoop] Never hesitate to put an "Aggie" on his back [Dr.Dre] Rat-tat-tat-tat tat ta tat like that, and I..
After Stockton hit the shot in 1997, my roommate's girlfriend was about two inches from my face laughing at me. I calmly said, "Greg, you better get your b**** out of my face before I punch her in the nose". Expecting some sort of response to me from Greg, he surprised me by saying "Stephanie, I think you better move". So, yeah, I can see where this guy is coming from.
Sadly, I withheld judgement on this story until I read whether the assaulter or the assaultee was a Rockets fan. Guy definitely had it coming. Probably from Dallas.
Last week a friend of mine was talking trash about my Rockets and had to just sit there and take it. They were playing really bad....but I lost it after he said to me "Scoreboard, buddy - scoreboard."
