This game come out today... Anyone get it? Yeah I know its probably being overshadowed by Black Ops (which I'm enjoying btw) but I've been a fan of the AC series since 1. Also, the added multiplayer looks VERY fun. So anyone thats gotten it so far... any first impressions?
I am gonna pick it up soon AC 2 was amazing, the best game of last year imo. It looks like the story mode is just more of an add on, but the city of Rome looks GREAT. What I am most interested in is the multiplayer which is apparently truly innovative and unique from early reviews. Online assassinations could prove to be one of the best online experiences in gaming.
Now I bought that one the day it came out and I ended up playing it straight through from start to finish with no breaks. I didn't plan to do that but that's just how it played out.
Hopefully within the next month or so, though I have Black Ops to entertain me for that time I loved AC2 and while I was worried this would be a cheap cash in, I'm hearing its like 20 hours long and the multiplayer looks fun, so thats alright with me. More AC2 isn't a bad thing. Kinda hoping theres a good black friday deal for it but i havent seen any
I loved AC2 , and it was first game, I ever tried to collect every trophy ...they made it pretty easy with the feathers and symbols
I probably won't get Brotherhood, but I might play through the first two games at some point. I played a little bit of the 1st one (rented it), and while I thought it was pretty interesting, I thought the gameplay was starting to get a bit repetitive. Ended up not putting a lot of time into it (think I had a choice to play it more, or play Uncharted...so easy decision for me at the time). From what I understand, the sequel was much better. Might end up giving the 1st game another shot, and then the sequel. Depending how that goes, might give Brotherhood a shot too. Don't really like that Ubisoft is trying to make this a game that comes out every year though.
the second is soooo much better than the first. The first definitely got repetitive. But the second got rid of all the crappy, time consuming, boring tasks and replaced them with way more entertaining activities. The cities were also way better and the characters had much more depth. It was VERY long and kept my interest throughout (as I mentioned in a different thread, long campaigns generally lose my interest). I dont think they are making it an every year game, this is not considered a true sequel, it is not considered AC 3. I think it was meant to have a large focus on multiplayer because that has been the one lacking thing in the series. You could probably skip the first one and head right into the 2nd without missing a lot (could just read a synopsis of the plot online).
Yes it is. I mean, it's not AC3, but this is the 3rd game in the series. It's more like AC2 - part 2. It's a main game, not an offshoot like the ones that come out for the DS and PSP. It's a true sequel to AC2. And the Desmond/Lucy storyline will continue as well. If you intend to follow the series to the end, you'll miss out on a chunk of story if you skip this one.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-11-15-assassins-creed-2011-confirmed Maybe not trying to make it every year, but we'd have an AC game in 2009, 2010, and 2011. Though I guess the 2011 game may be a DS/PSP/3DS game. Or maybe not even a game? Also kind of sucks that the creator of Assassin's Creed left Ubisoft...possibly on bad terms? And no, I'm not talking about Jade Raymond. I think I'll play the first one still. I don't think it was too bad really. Think I might have just been impatient at the time. Impressions were somewhat mixed (maybe negative), and like I said, I knew I would have an awesome experience with Uncharted. I should give it another shot when I don't have as many distractions. Also helps knowing that the series will continue (and be much better). Only problem is I don't know which route I should go: PC or PS3? PC probably looks and performs a lot better (I'm guessing?). But I heard it has some horrible DRM. Oh wait...apparently I already have Assassin's Creed for the PC. Bought it for $5 a while back via one of them DD sales. Must have forgotten...though maybe that's why I had an urge to play the games. Guess that settles both questions.
The thing I did not like of AC2 on the PC was that it needed a permanent internet connection. My internet connection was slow, and therefore the game suffered from Lag. I hop they fixed it with Brotherhood. since it is a great game.
