I've never heard about this guy before, but there was an article in the Dallas Morning News today about the Mavericks' interest in him. Apparently he is one of the top prospects in Europe right now and, since he declared for last year's draft and wasn't drafted (injury), is a free agent. I don't think we have a great need for a "slender 6-9 power forward," but the Mavericks seem impressed enough by him to send Donnie Nelson to Belgrade right now (in the midst of the final jockeying for playoff position) to talk with him. Has anyone considered this guy or have an opinion on him?
Wow! Not a single response. The least one of you could do is give me a quick one-liner...let me know that I'm full of it and that I've been honored enough to make your ignore list.
http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/columnists/mstein/stories/040902dnspostein.189d7.html But, I really don't think we need a slender 6-9 power forward. We don't need to nab every prospect out there, especially when they play a position where we're legitimately 3 deep.
EEuropeans are renowned for their offensive game. Answer me this.......can this guy shoot? If yes, throw Rudy on the next concord to whereverthe heck he's from........
Thanks Juan. I agree that we don't need to be grabbing prospects just for the heck of it. And I feel like we have a solid 3-4 tandem for the future, so I'm not all that anxious to make a move for those positions. Hell, what we really need is a 5. BUT...Dallas has had some pretty good luck with their scouting and they seem to be pretty high on this guy to send the younger Nelson out to talk with him at this point in the season. I would simply hate to ignore someone that could turn into the next Nowitski (sp?) even if it means stockpiling at one position.
