for the past year and a half I've watched cato become a great roleplayer. he's not offensive minded, his only points are usually off alleyoops, but he crashes the boards and he's a fairly good shotblocker. if we didn't have yao last year I believe he would have been putting up 5-15 fairly easily. for those of you who will say stats don't matter, that's fine. I guarantee you if we said, "okay, cato has to go right now", EVERY SINGLE team in the east would be calling, besides perhaps chicago. the guy gets more boards in 48 than anyone in the league other than ben. whether you like it or not, that number means something especially considering how many boards he picks up with the limited playing time he has.

initially I wouldn't have defended him at all, he was overpriced, and didn't play very well at all. in the past season he's shown he has alot of heart, and he simply wants to win. there isn't anything wrong with that.

anyway, bottom line is, leave cato alone... or I'll kill you. :D

He had a great year last year. There is no reason to bash him if he keeps working his butt off.

Of course, besides the contract, there isnt a reason to hate on him. He shouldnt be making the money he is making.

alot of people are going to be hesitant to forgive a guy after one good year as a back up after three lackluster years as the starter. until last season, we very rarely saw Cato expend any real effort. If he keeps up the job he did last year then I imagine sooner or later you'll see less and less whining about his contract.

Ok cato errrrrrrrrr seclusion lets review the facts. Cato comes in has a great preseason and gets a monster contract. Dream goes down so Cato is given the chance to be the man. He does nothing. Didnt Stanley Roberst beat him out for the starting job. Wow that says a lot for the guy. Not only did he preform poorly he acted as if he didnt care. Total lack of effort. I belive that is the reason most dont like cato.

wow bro, good job. give yourself credibility by implying that I'm kelvin cato, you are so s-m-r-t.

get a grip. I said he's started showing signs of life a season and a half ago. who cares about what happened 3 years ago. I'm talking about now.

I hated Cato before last season. I think he played very well and handled the Yao situation with a great attitude.
If he regresses to his former indifference, I'll hate him again.

yea he played good this season but thats one season what happened to the others when he was the starter. Remember when he stoped talking to the media. What about when he said and i quote" All i know is if we were in the east,we would be in the playoffs" come on open your eyes. I dont hate him i just wanted him to open a can of care when Garnett blows past him for a dunk or a pg is driving to the lane.

the reason i think CAto improved vastly this year was because of the drafting of Yao. I think he tought he will be the starter for few more years but the presence of yao allowed him to be more aggressive since he became a primary bench player. He'll be even better next year.
