Asian Greg Oden Reporting In... What did I do this time?

    Yeah... I still have patella tendinitis but the pain is almost completely gone at the moment...

    I'm not even sure if this is serious or not... but when I was playing basketball I felt a pop in my ankle just above the outer joint that sticks out in my left ankle. The pain is almost nonexistent, but in its place I feel some weakness; pain only when I put pressure on it (like just before shooting or priming to initiate a running motion). Also it seems to have swelled up just a bit, but not seriously.

    Am I the second coming of Greg Oden? :(
    What the hell happened to my ankle?

    How is walking, moving around?

    This past year I 'popped' both ankles. Got one checked out which happened to be a bad sprain. Couldn't walk for a few days and wasn't able to do any running for about 6 weeks. The pain and swelling was around the 'ball'.

    'Popped' the other while playing basketball but the weakness was under the 'ball'.
    I was able to work out after about 4 weeks but it remained slightly weak for the following couple weeks. Didn't help that I tweaked it a couple times.

    Walking is normal, but I'm favoring my right ankle while doing it. Can't control that lol... no pain though. Also, I have this weird feeling in my upper ankle like maybe eight inches above the "ball" its not necessarily pain but it feels like the joint or muscle or whatever it is, is tense.

    Also when I do put pressure on my ankle its not the pain that bugs me, but my ankle just gives. Feels really weird.

    Doctor prescribed me pain medicine but I figured it was a waste of money since pain wasn't really an issue...

    Your ligaments are probably bothered in some way which would explain the lack of strength/support.

    I don't know too much about the human body, but maybe you should consider the possibility of a high ankle sprain?

    In the end, you should probably just check with a doctor, and get a brace for the meantime.
    Doctor told me to ice it and take ibuprofen to reduce swelling. And to limit mobility but move it around when you can.
