Since North Korea didn't enter the semifinal, Yao Ming will not have the chance to face that tallest guy in basketball world. Tomorrow morning China will play Kazakhstan.

    Time: Houston time 5 am
    Eastern time 6 am
    Beijing time 6 pm

    China won 131-62

Yao Ming: 8 minutes, 19 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and a few blocks. He scored a 3 today.

From what I watched, he only played the first 7 to 8 minutes at the first Q. I didn't see the first 3 to 4 minutes of the third Q. So I am not sure about his total playing time.

The two refs asked Ming to take photos with them after the game. :D

I'm glad Yao has not played a lot of minutes in these games.

I think it will serve him well later in the NBA season and he will not "hit the rookie wall" as early as some have estimated.

Do you think this was part of an agreement with the Rockets to limit his minutes?

look at that poor Kazakhstan guy, looks a little like Mike Bibby ;) Those stats look great even though they didn't have any competetion, 13 MINUTES and 19 points, 7 rebounds, 4 blocks!

China is just the bomb in these damn asian games!

Judging by the looks of this guy's melon, he must have grown up near Chernobyl.

Doubtful. The Chinese wanted tons of clauses protecting Yao's availability and performance in those games. I can't imagine them agreeing to hold him out just for the Rockets and the NBA. That would seem contrary to everything they've said up until this point.
