Maybe I am just a stick in the mud, but anyone else think it is weird to hear this advertisement on 610?
no you are not alone i heard this radio ad last week and i was telling my co-worker that I think i just heard about a website where people can go and cheat on their spouse/long time partner i found it odd really. but hey if it has members and people can make money off of it i see why the website is there but i can only see that doing more harm than good to people's relationships across the country.
"Ashley Madison.com. Affairs, guaranteed." I've heard this commercial for years on Howard Sterns show on Sirius. Most of the people on SternFanNetwork also agree this website and commercials are tasteless.
Hmmmm.. I wonder how they could advertise without sounding tasteless. Is it their advertising that you don't like? Or is it their product?
I heard this for the first time yesterday on 610 and I did a double take. I kept waiting for a punchline of some sort, but it never came. The only reason I didn't make a thread is because when I got on the computer and checked to see if the site actually existed, it said it had been covered by all the major news outlets. I figured I was just the last to know... But anyway, I think it's a pretty despicable concept. If people want to make up their own mind to cheat, I'm sure they can get it done. In my opinion, there's no need to promote it by advertising a service.
This is how I feel. Plus, makes me wonder how the Texans and Rockets feel about it. One moment they are interviewing a member of the team, and before you know it, you hear an advertisement promoting infidelity. Its just weird and awkward.
You have to be pretty effin' stupid to set up a profile on a website for cheaters, especially one that is being nationally advertised.
I heard the ad on 610 the last two mornings and it makes me sick. Dealing with my wife of 8 years having a long affair since March (and still going), I can't believe there is actually a site that is set up for this, acts like it is OK and then has the gall to advertise it. I couldn't believe the commercial... Girl #1" "Shhhh, I'm secretly dating another man." Girl #2: "I've never seen you look so happy." Girl #1: "I have a good relationship, but I felt like I needed something extra." Girl #2: "I'm going to sign up. Life is just too short." It just shows you the society we live in these days. Makes you think if you will ever be able to find a good partner that won't cheat on you anymore. Hell, if my wife did it of all people...
The product, or just the whole idea and to advertise it. It's one thing to advertise on Howard Stern, but to now see it's playing on 610 (only AM radio I listen to is 1560), that's even more sad.
Yeah...I have heard it up here in Dallas on 1310 The Ticket (our premier sports radio station). At first I also thought it was fake as the station does a ton of bits but I have heard it several times and no punchline. It seems like the site is trying to advertise as much as possible.
I thought it was odd too, then I realized it was real. What a bunch of $#!+. It goes to show that money is becoming or has become more important than everything else. Runaway capitalism. Everything is for sell.
I read something about this. IIRC, the website's original creator sold it years ago....after making millions and retiring early.
I haven't heard this on the radio. Do I get to see Ashley's boobs on the website? If so, let me know ASAP.
How about growing a pair and leaving her? Tolerating a wife who cheats on you once would be nearly impossible for me, but a 'long affair that is still going' is out of the question.
Been hearing this the whole year in the LA area on a couple radio stations. At first I thought it just a terrible gimmick and would go away within a few weeks. But nope, still going...Its tasteless in that it doesnt say if you're gonna cheat anyway might as well try it. It straight says try an affair, why NOT. And they're getting prostitution close to legal in San Fran, whats the world coming to
It's pretty sick, I know. I'm not sure whose account this is, but I'll ask. I think the backlash will probably force the issue a little bit, though...these things tend to end up taking care of themselves. But just so you all know where I stand, I'm pretty embarrassed it's on our station...
