^ the site is more than likely loaded with the same Professional types that are in the craigslist encounters section, rather than real married people looking for affairs...not that I would know of course.

 

Maybe I can find a suggar momma on there, and blackmail her and threaten to tell her husband...

I just hope that that site dies from a preponderance of lawsuits filed by aggrieved spouses.

 

this was heavily advertised last year on 610am and was discussed here, i watched some ABC Nightline special where they had a conference between a priest, the founder of this site, a guy that has a wife and a mistress with her wife knowing, and someone else and it was an interesting debate, especially with the priest arguing with the site founder.

 

If people want to do it, they will find a way one way or another so going after the founder of this site is dumb. That would be like going after the owner of a bar if two married people met there and hooked up. The bar owner provided the vehicle for it to happen, no different from this guy building a website.

 

I remember when they were advertising for this site on 610AM. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. They must have been hard up for some ad dollars because you KNEW they were going to hear it from some enraged people over that one. Didn't take long and you weren't hearing those ads anymore.

 

This. There are all types of groups, communities, sites, etc. that advertise this type of stuff. Sad but true.

 

I don't know anything about the site in question so I'm not going to defend it but I think there is something to its argument. Many societies have had polygamy and or tolerated infidelity so it is very possible that as humans we aren't wired to be monogamous.

 

I'm over it already. I hear the commercials on Howard Stern every day, but these stupid new jingles are irritating the hell out of me.

But this is a vehicle specifically catering affairs. Totally different from a bar just because a bar serves as a different purpose, even though other things may come out of it, like the affair you proposed. This is is tailor-made for one thing to happen.

Still, it's sad some people are actually attracted to this manner of living or even make a living.

 

It's functionally no different than craigslist or an escort service. the "affairs" thing is just a marketing hook to get free pub - such as this thread.

I agree that it is dumb to attack the founder of the site, but I don't think your comparison is really good. There is a huge difference between a bar and this site because the bar doesn't exist for the purpose of helping married people hook up.

 

But who is dumb enough to put personal info online?

I mean once it is out there, it NEVER goes away.
