As time files, the legend of Hakeem has gotten greater. The young ones who didn't see him play are left in awe when they see his highlights. There are expections of course. The more they get to know him,the greater will be the appreciation for what he meant to Houston and all of us.

I believe the Rockets would have left town, if the people of Houston didn't love Dream and what he did for the city.

Jeff and co did a spectacular job with the SavetheRockets campaign, but if it wasn't for the 2 titles that Hakeem led to us,they would have left for another city.
The Sonics were unlucky since they were so far removed from their championship year, unlike Houston.

Yes, I acknowledge the fact that Hakeem was an once-in-a-lifetime player but his legendary status has faded a bit for me. After all, reminiscence doesn't bring us closer to another championship.

Hell no! I've had the great pleasure of actually meeting Hakeem several times since we both go to the same mosque. Dude is humble and really a nice guy.

    Hakeem made the Rockets!

I actually didn't get to see him play given that I was a baby, when he was in his prime and a little kid when he was toward the end of his career...

So all have to go by, is old video tapes and folk legend thrown around here in the GARM ... :)

    LOL

Hakeem was the dream for a reason. Still the best player IMO.

I feel sad for the ones that voted that they didn't see him play because they would know what kind of value those two championships have for the organization and the city.

I will never forgot what Hakeem gave me. He gave me the reason to love this sport as much as I do now. He's the reason why many summers during school I always wanted to emulate him, he's the reason why I played varsity basketball my soph-senior year. He is the reason why I worked hard to achieve my goals growing up.

He was my insparation. And the greatest sports figure ever in my eyes. What he did on the court and his humbless will always be rememberd. I will never forget him.

You think les would have really left the 4th largest city for Louisville? I can kind of understand with okc owner being from Oklahoma, but I think les is more about money.

I think hakeems legend has grown.

I can think of three things I am proud of when it comes to the Rockets

    1: Hakeem and the championships

    2: 22

3: taking LA to game 7
