    First of all,
I think democrats and republicans are all good people in general. this is america right? the republicans are going to get some tinman furor.

    lay off the musicians:
since when did Marilyn Manson cause Columbine? no one likes to blame parents for anything. those SPOILED white kids had too much money. how the hell do kids afford automatic weapons? guess what? they have rich white rupublican parents who dont punish there kids at all.
what ever happened to beating your kids? back in the day if you do something wrong, your dad would kick your ass. thats fine. if it means that Dylan gets his ass whooped, at least that can save lives.
cause they listen to Marilyn Manson they went loco? wrong. parents need to discipline their kids first.

    lay off the videogames:
GTA is getting sued left and right. Car jacking existed before videogames. people shoot people before Duck Hunt was invented.

    lay off abortion:
I know this a sensitive issue, but its the woman's right. i dont agree with some sick girl who keeps getting abortions left and right, they need to lock those people up in the looney bin. but let the woman do what she must. either way its a sad result.

    restrict gun control:
I know people kill people not guns. but i doubt anyone should be able to buy M4s with sniper scopes. I know some dude who has one. why? to shoot deer?? please! tax the crap out of guns and stop selling military grade weapons.

    include more minorities:
Rice and Powell are good people, but they need to grab more minorities to gain acceptance. there are minorities with moderate to conservative views too, but you're going to lose them if you dont recruit them. a few muslim recruits wouldnt hurt either. just diversify. people vote for people who look like themselves.

    dick cheney:
    i hate this guy.

    GW Bush:
dude, you ALREADY WON the ELECTION. stop campaigning. people hate the war, live with it. make sure IRAQ's goverment is strong and American friendly so that they rebuild their oil industry and sell us cheap oil instead of buying it from those punks in Saudi Arabia. that's the main goal right? cheaper oil, happy Iraqis, American troops going home. make sure the right people are managing it.

    Gays:
I know the whole marriage thing was a political campaign to alienate the country so they will vote for you GW. but you got to recognize these people and help them gain some benefits.

    Pat Robertson:
drop this guy. he's straight up lost it.

    that's my rant :)

I agree. I could care less about it.

Again, not a big issue. I agree.

Y'all are the one's crying about it. It won't be overturned. Trust me, regardless of people's feelings.

You watch way too many movies. 99.9% of people who own guns use them responsibly. (I don't, by the way) To people who are going to use them for robberies or killings? Dude, they can kill you just as quickly with a revolver or rifle. When was the last time you heard of someone using an AK-47 in Houston?

Bring them on! It is up to them.

Great argument, there. I'm not sure I can find the words to combat that reasoning.

The war has been over for a while. We are in the rebuilding phase. Unfortunately, there are still jihad organizations who would rather destroy everything than have Iraq rebuilt as a democracy. Until we're done, we're not leaving. Deal with that.

They are recognized. They just can't get married. Homosexuality is not a "race". The ONLY thing they can't do is get married. Boo freaking Hoo.

    So has Cindy Sheehan.

    I don't think that's true.

I don't think homosexuals have a legal say in the last wishes of a life partner (unless it’s specified in a will). They cannot grant a doctor permission to care for an incapacitated partner. I'm sure there are more.

And fatty do you really believe that the war is "over'"?

Getting rid of cheap handguns would do far more to reduce gun violence than banning military grade weapons. Even if they are banned, they would have to grandfather the clause in so all existing AR-15's and their ilk will still exist.

The only time in the history of this country that such powerful weapons were used frequently was during prohibition when the Thompson sub-machine gun gained the publics attention.

And sure no one needs a Barrett .50 cal rifle, and no one needs a car with 500 HP. Both are lethal in the wrong hands but you don't see people trying to outlaw sports cars.

I didn't want to derail but I'm not sure I did... I'm not sure what the point of the thread is.

    Michael Steele
    Alberto Gonzalez
    Carlos Gutierrez
    Elaine Chao
    Norman Mineta
    Alphonso Jackson
    Bobby Jindal
    Van Tran
    Clarence Thomas

It took me about 30 seconds to find that many minority Republicans in just the cabinet, congress, plus 1 supreme court justice and 1 Lt. Gov of the top of my head. The problem is, until the minorities start registering as Republicans in larger numbers, they are not going to be represented in larger numbers. 25% of the right leaning justices on the SCOTUS are black (1 in 4), meanwhile what percentage of the Republican voters are black? Less than 3% (Around 8% of blacks voters vote Republican, but blacks make up only 12.3% of the population.) When there are more minority Republicans, then there will be more minority Republican candidates.

The problem with this premise is included in your previous post. Minority Republicans are already way over represented relative to their numbers in the party. The reason is that a party that regularly screws minorities is eager to prove they're not racist by making an example of minorities that support them.

So your solution to the question of why there aren't more prominent black Republicans is that more blacks should be Republicans. That's swell. That's kind of like Bush's call for bipartisanship. He wants both parties to work together as long as they're both doing exactly what he wants them to do. Compromise isn't on the table, but he feels everyone should work together. As long as they're all working toward his agenda. And your take is that if blacks want a piece of power they should do the same. Even if the ones in power screw blacks on such a regular basis that 90% of them seem to have found a natural home in the other party, if they want representation they should join the party that screws them. This, friends, is how Republicans define reaching across the aisle. Guess what, SM? For the last several years the GOP has rounded up every single black person they could find that didn't feel like they were selling their soul to align with your party and put them on camera at the national convention. There were like ten of them. That's not for nothing.

More blacks will be Republicans when the Republican party does one single thing to help black people. And when they do, it will be the first time since the Dems gave up racism and the Republicans took up that gap. New Orleans was a great opportunity to prove that the GOP gave a damn about black people. Even after everybody (Feds and locals, D's and R's) screwed up the response, the rebuild was a great opportunity and we all know how that went. Hundreds of billions in new (off budget) funding for Iraq and New Orleans can just get ****ed.

But I really do love your insinuated proposal because I think it's exactly in line with the administration. You want representation? Easy. Just agree with us and sign up for the party that constantly screws you. If you'll do that one simple thing you can be Secretary of State. Or even a Supreme Court Justice. And it's true. If you're black and you sign up for the party that screws your people you can get affirmative action like no black Democrat ever heard of.

What's so cool about StupidMoniker's post is he actually admits that's what's going on. I find that refreshing.

we'll the idea is logical. if you have a lower % of minorities and you get more minorities to join you, then the % goes up. i'm not saying the repubs are the best party for black people, but if they come and take some piece of the pie, the can achieve. same goes for the demos. democrats are taking black people fore granted and just exploiting them. like katrina 'see its bush's fault and the republicans'... welll how about the democrats in louisiana do something about the corruption in new orleans and high crime.

its cool that houston is taking in all these new orleans people, but once that city is fixed, go home! be saints fans.
